And let's remember, Paul Sykes--the bum--finished up getting golden showers by teenage boys.

Paul Sykes - A joke who ran away in a fight and then got KO'd by a Nigerian BUM
Ronnie Kray - Lost to a 5-3 bum
Charlie Kray - Finished up with a BUMs 11-6 record
Cliff Field -- 11-4, 4 TKOs
Johnny Waldron - Did nothing, drew against bums like Bob Pollad (3-3-1) until losing to Dennis Andirews (9-2-1). He got a win over Poundshop Henry Cooper.
Lenny McClean - Too scared to even turn pro. Got KO'd by bums with the slightest bit of training (Field and Waldron)

At the end of the day, they're all bums who think they're tough because they knocked out a few people half their size on the street or someone pissed out their head.

Yet people idolise these clowns.
I would say Sykes And Waldron were above ‘bum’ status at Queensbury rules, but the others yeah, nothing to shout home about. There is no point cherry picking an instance where they performed badly against whichever random fighter that was, as that opens a far bigger door where elite level boxers have had an off night and lost to a perceived inferior fighter.

To say they’re not in any way tough is a bit pathetic. There are always two camps when viewing the likes of Sykes and Mclean and both via off from reality spectacularly, either hugely overestimating their prowess or hugely underestimating it.

Sykes obviously climbed the highest boxing ladder of the folk mentioned (albeit absurdly fast tracked). If John L Gardener and Sykes would’ve had a no holds barred street fight, I’d have wagered heavily on Sykes. These type think nothing of biting, butting eye gouging etc etc the boxing stuff is just a periphery of their penchant for unbridled violence. Padded gloves and Queensbury rules redress the balance for the skilled boxer and inhibit the likes of Sykes and Mclean.

If boxing correlates to all round scrapping per se, then Mayweather should have had a rubber match with McGregor and they had two fights one in each discipline.

Waldron's record I suppose is ok on paper, and the guy he lost to went on to have a good career actually (winning the world title). So, not too bad actually. I'll accept him as not a bum.
Sykes was pretty garbage - 6-3-1 is a bum record.

Waldron could fight. He was in the Terry Lawless camp and Lawless had no time for indiscipline and laziness. That said, I seem to remember that Johnny lost his boxing licence. Charlie Kray was better than the twins put together. Sykes could fight but needed stronger management than Tommy Miller.

Strange how a guy like Syksey still holds a fascination for people.

The reality is the geezer was a broken individual. Nasty as hell when drunk, which he was most of the time.

He wasn't half as clever as he thought he was.

As evidenced by his life. Smart folk don’t spend half of their days in jail and the other half on the street.

He was blessed with athleticism and not much else. Just watching how he treated his sons on camera was enough to turn my stomach never mind the rest that’s out there about him.
