Agreed , it's not like it's the first time he has gassed like that , something is amiss somewhere .

Possibly yeh. it's bizarre because he doesn't even have a high work rate. So he's basically done low work rate for a few rounds and then he's absolutely flat out fucked like most people would be after 12 hard rounds, or running a marathon or some kind of really gruelling effort. He's like that off 3 fairly bog standard rounds. That's just not right at all.

Feel bad for Price, but I have to agree with everyone else; Price has the worst stamina I have ever seen above the local scene. That's not an exaggeration. Butterbean had more gas in his tank. At this point it's a done deal as his confidence is shot, but Price is a guy who could have been so much better if he'd have had better training.

I think he should call it a day. His Health is more important. He can't fight more than 4 rounds without gassing. You don't need to have much to beat him just last a handful of rounds.

When fighters (Hughie Fury ?) come up with that, "I had a rare undiagnosed blood disorder affecting my stamina" stuff I always think it's bullsh*t - but in Price's case it may be true..

He's got an Olympic Bronze, doesn't fight high-tempo and he's just gone ??

I honestly wonder if he's got some underlying health issue, like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or something. Whatever it is, it definitely will scupper him at whatever level he fights at now, he's exposed so people will know what to do. He should retire and take up a less harrowing sport, like chess.

He's got proper trainers and presumably training like an athlete, he must be physically fitter, but nerves waste a lot of energy too, and then he gets demoralized when he gets tired, and lacks the natural instincts to coast on.

Poor bloke. I think he gets so nervous, he burns up all his energy and gets spent. A career behind the mic and/or training him would be a good move. He comes over well, is bright, and has a lot to give, the actual fighting part is not for him -no shame in that. It doesn't preclude you from having a stella career in boxing.

Now you mention it, it is a bit like Ryo Matsumoto who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last year. It apparently effected him as an amateur and in his sole pro defeat. Wonder if Price ever got checked for those types of things....

Seems like he loses a lot in nervous energy for me. I struggle to understand how a boxer can gas so fast, it must have a mental edge to it.

Didn't see tonights fight but he always seems too tense. It's like if you stood there and tensed all your body you'd get tired. He never learnt to relax and breathe properly.

Yep I realised after half a round that he was exactly the same and unless he got some power off quickly, he'd be gone. I don't think his problems can be unlearned, or undone, they are there and no trainer can change it. Caldwell was great in the corner, saying all the right things, but you can't polish a turd.
