Anyone else fall like that and ref usually stops it right away. Terry tried giving Bellew a chance.
He did but then appeared to look out of the ring at someone and immediately stopped counting and waved it off, almost as if they'd granted him permission to do the right thing. No idea who like..?

Overall it was one of his better nights last night. Didn't see much of him.
Well it was Eddie who was directly behind him who held his head. At the same time, Dave Coldwel kinda got up as well. I don’t think anyone knew he’d beat the count and even if he did, he would have been stopped a second later.

Went last night and loved it because I saw one of my favourite fighters in the flesh and he wiped out a bullyboy I don't like.

Made my opinions of Bellew well known on this forum for years so I can't be arsed repeating them.

As much as I didn't like crowd last night at least I didn't have to watch the sky commentary. He sky coverage is getting worse and worse. Froch giving 10-10 rounds as usual, come on most of the regular posters on this forum know more about boxing than Froch does. He's not even a fan.

Also aware of Adam Smith comments about the Manchester bombing, disgraceful.

Usyk is a legend, easily my favourite fighter in the sport right now. I've been a fan since watching him at London 2012.

Dillian Whyte’s brother speaking truth on the scorecards.

Said it was good he KO’d Bellew or he would have been robbed.

I do think eventually it was going to be one-sided for the remainder. So one-aides that judges would have had to give it to Usyk.

Yes, it's weird that people are saying Usyk was going to be robbed. One scorecard was bad but on the other two, had Bellew beaten the count in the 8th round, Usyk would have been ahead by the end of the round with a 10-8.

Two of the scorecards were reasonable and would have been the decisive ones. Having Bellew one round up after 7 wasn't ridiculous.

The scorecards were disgusting. Usyk clearly won all 7 completed rounds.

he was defo hurt before that , did a little wobble just like a second before and had terrible body language for much of the round. he was wearing his doom on his face basically.

such a sweet ko still though, having it on a 1 second loop in real time is brutal....he just collapsed so violently

He was hurt before he circled the corner, and took more damage while he was there. When he came away from the ropes he was out on his feet.

Clop's right about Usyk's tactics, and Bellew betrayed a lack of confidence in his ability to hold firm over 12 when he beat his chest. If Usyk had stamina issues it might just have tempted him into a tear-up, but of course we know the opposite to be true.

Visually, Bellew seemed a harder fight for Usyk than Gassiev, but I think that's because the latter was on the frontfoot and ideally suited to Uysk's counterpunching. He doesn't seem to be as good going forward, but then he only had to be patient this time, so who knows.

I think he'd lose against the undefeated version of Joshua, and it's not because he's smaller, nor because he doesn't punch as hard, it's because of those two aspects in tandem. AJ has top power with a good chin, so I think you need a Haye-level punch to beat him if you're smaller. Else be almost as big so that he can't tire you in clinches.

usyk defo is better when the opponent comes to him rather then when hes leading....bellews tactics were actually spot on imo to immediately take the back foot. usyk when he leads isnt quite as sharp and is a bit easier to hit.

i think big hws, with the size difference, will probably take the front foot and look to agress with usyk, but tbh they may be better off starting backwards and getting a long jab out there, while looking for counter backhands when usyk starts to throw

Yeah, Bellew could've run him close if he'd had about a third more stamina.

I think Usyk should do what Haye did on his road to Wlad: let the top lads deal with each other for a bit. Would Joshua, Wilder and Fury ever be the same again after losing?

True. Many boxers aren’t athletes or consider themselves as one. HW’s don’t even need to make weight. Shame.
On a proper diet and training regimen, Allen would have a shot at a Euro title @ CruiserW
im not really sure about that, i just dont really see what allen brings beyond a chin, fighters of euro standard or higher should deal with him pretty handily ,. even lenroy thomas outboxed him. its not like he brings some serious power or pace to make his chin count much either.

the last few guys to hold the euro were alekseev, drozd, chakiev, bellew, kutcher, and ngabu....all of whom are simply above allen

Yes.
Murderers row that lot - even for an in-shape Allen.

i think the second left hook bellew took when he was in the corner, maybe 5 secs before the ko, was the punch that did the damage. look again, he was staggering after that and wide open.

I can't stop laughing at Froch.

About a minute before the KO i was shouting at the tv it was time for the towel to come in. Froch on the other hand is still mid-sentence about how "Bellew is still valiant" as he's getting the beating of his life in the corner. Then with true comedy timing he finishes with "...good shot" as the knock out lands

Probably good job Froch is a commentator and not a cornerman.

The whole sky team are a bunch of jokers and yes men. Alex Arthur was one of the only people who showed unbiased opinions and notice how little he’s used anymore.

That fckin creep Smith has to go esp after his comments about terrorism.
