Reading between the lines, everyone was happy with November @ Wembley, then Netflix were "underwhelmed" by the
viewing figures for Fury-Makhmudov and proceeded to spit their dummy out and demand a move to the states.

Eddie Hearn lists demands for Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury to go ahead in New York

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing will present an addendum to Saudi Arabia’s event management/entertainment company Sela on Thursday detailing the requirements necessary to bring the anticipated Anthony Joshua-Tyson Fury heavyweight showdown to New York’s Madison Square Garden on November 20, Boxing Scene has learned.

In the addendum, Matchroom won't budge from its position of not permitting the new Zuffa Boxing to promote the bout, leaving Sela as the likely compromise choice to preside over the event.

The addendum’s list of requests has not been fully disclosed, but Boxing Scene has learned that, in addition to standard contractual inclusions addressing ticket requests, security, and transportation assurances, Matchroom is seeking to ensure Joshua collects his remaining purse earnings from his second-round knockout of Kristian Prenga July 25 in Saudi Arabia.

Boxing Scene has separately reviewed information connected to Matchroom’s dialogue with Sela, the company connected to powerful Saudi Arabia boxing financier Turki Alalshikh, who owns 60 percent of the Las Vegas-based Zuffa Boxing that UFC CEO/President Dana White fronts.

Another potential element connected to the November 20 card identifies plans for a powerful string of Matchroom bouts to potentially be placed on the Madison Square Garden show.

Those proposed – but not yet signed – bouts include a bantamweight unification between three-division champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez and Mexico’s WBC champion Christian Medina, a WBA secondary welterweight title fight between England’s Jack Catterall and American Keyshawn Davis and the WBA heavyweight championship pitting Murat Gassiev versus Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller.

Australian heavyweight Teremoana Jnr and UK’s Odel Kamara may also be placed on the Joshua-Fury card.

Boxing Scene has reviewed additional communication between Matchroom and Sela, which have worked together since late 2023.

Alalshikh’s bond with Zuffa Boxing and White has tightened from their staging the Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford superfight in Las Vegas in September 2025, heightening the rivalry between White and Hearn, who has delivered Alalshikh his top talent to perform in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere globally.

In that prior communication, which an official insisted is not part of the Joshua-Fury addendum, Matchroom has asked Sela for this:

– All monies payable to Matchroom across all future darts and snooker events to be paid immediately.

– International promotional fees plus deposits for World Series of Darts and 167 Riyadh Season events.

– Formal confirmation that the Ronnie O’Sullivan Academy [snooker] license [be] renewed for a third year, and [that] those future invoices [be] paid now.

– Pay all other funds owed to Matchroom for prior boxing events.

Tyson Fury labels Anthony Joshua a 'coward' in light of contract dispute

Tyson Fury has accused Anthony Joshua of running scared after Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn revealed that Joshua would not agree to a fight in New York unless certain conditions were met.

Boxing Scene first reported in June that Joshua’s contract for the proposed Fury showdown stipulated a UK location while Fury’s contract did not.

It was reported in July that November 20 at Madison Square Garden had been slated as the respective date and location due to Saudi Arabian promotional giants Sela, Turki Alalshikh, and broadcasters Netflix, believing it would generate a bigger audience, and in turn greater revenue, on US soil.

It’s understood that all parties, bar Joshua and Matchroom, agreed.

On Thursday, Boxing Scene broke the news that Matchroom had provided Sela with an addendum detailing the requirements for the change of contract, and for the contest, between two British heavyweights, to go ahead in New York.

If those conditions could not be met, which include Joshua getting his full purse for the July victory over Kristian Prenga in July, they would demand the fight to take place in the UK as per the original contract.

“It doesn't look like they are going to sign the fight and it doesn't look like it is going to happen all because [Joshua's promoter] Eddie Hearn and that want more money," Fury said on Friday. "They have already had that much money off Turki [Alalshikh] over the last few years Eddie and 'AJ', they have had boxing deals, they have had darts deals, they have had snooker deals, they have had everything."

"And yet, they have got the audacity and cheek of flea-bitten rats to ask for more money from old Turki that you have had combined over the last couple of years.

"Keep on running you cowards."

Fury and Dubois is a great match up and least it means something, Dubois is a world champ and Fury is still arguably the 2nd best heavyweight out there

I'd like Fury and Joshua to disappear now. They are no longer of any meaningful significance in the division. They are little more than circus sideshows like jake paul.

He’s more than happy to fight here, why wouldn’t he be? He’s won inside the distance at MSG and Wembley. AJ has lost inside the distance at both.

I think Fury simply wants Top Dollar, and he wants whatever location that would be at.

Now they've lost their fair-weather fans, I feel that Wembley represents home advantage for Joshua.

Wouldn't be surprised if Fury favours MSG, on account of their boxing media showing him more respect than the UK press. For Joshua it's the reverse.

I'd like it at the Principality for a neutral UK venue.

It's not in Tysons contract. As he said, he's ready to go ANYWHERE.

Wherever it is, the crowd will be pro Fury. Massively at Wembley. AJ'S fans were all casuals and most have disappeared. The crowd for the Dubois fight was weirdly timid.
