Just touching bases again. They have the boxing matches on the hotel TV here. They´re in German and from various arenas around the world. But that tells me they´re probably for the foreign tourists´enjoyment.

Found a Mexican place. Will try it out today. The owners are from Jalisco. Seem real friendly.

My grand daughter is dancing away and has become close to the family that runs the Flamenco Academy. She´s like a little sister. Same with my grandson and his guitar playing. We´ve become like a part of their extended family. My wife makes friends with everyone. Most unpretentious person I´ve ever known. The students are from all parts of the world.

Another thing Frank. Old people have a certain dignity in their manner. They are treated with respect. No one bothers them and they feel important. People figure they´ve put in their time,so let them enjoy the rest of their lives.

My wife and I are heading out to Phoenix, Az., tomorrow, to visit our sons that live out there, Tony and Bobby and their familys, we'll spent a few days out there for some R & R, maybe it'll do me some good for my cancer.

I will have my laptop to keep in touch with BoxRec.

Williams was highly rated around this time - the mid-1980s - but went downhill fast. I watched him get blown away in a round by southpaw Scot Gary Jacobs at the Albert Hall in June 1989. On the same bill a certain Lennox Lewis made his pro debut and stopped a British heavy by the name of Al Malcolm in the second. Lewis stuck a nice thumb in Malcolm's eye to finish the job.

Mancini went in with Arguello in his first shot at the title. Otherwise, he was brilliantly managed.

Enjoy it, Frankie. And keep posting.

At the risk of incurring Granberry's wrath, I will report that Steve Lott did an extensive study of the video of the Cooper-Clay fight, and the break was 8 seconds.
So 68 seconds, a lifetime to a dazed, inexperienced man like Clay. Dundee did his job.
The only thing I'm disputing is the length of the delay. The whole idea that Clay had two to three extra minutes between rounds is just crap.

Even so, I've said before that I can recall a couple of times I'd like to have had an extra 8 seconds between rounds. I bet Frank or any experienced cornerman would tell you the same thing.
Well, Dundee pulled a stroke, let Henry pull his own.

Dundee conned some extra time; Cooper has conned his own.

Got it. But this is the "Boxers of the Past" Forum, not the "Boxers Fantasizing About their Past" Forum, so I'm not so willing to give Sir Henry a pass on that whopper.

Mores the pity!! Frankie was a very sharp boxer, and a joy to watch.

(BTW, I don't know how to do those uploads either. You had to teach me how to use tinypics   )
