Hey, fair enough. I don't get this myself, as I've said.

However, perhaps you might want to apply your obviously formidable intellect to the logic of taking on a man ranked highly with two bodies rather than Anthony Small? Please feel free to use emoticons, should you wish :D

You sound like a typical employee of FW with your snidey remarks. You're like a snearing toad and come accross nothing short of being a very sour individual.

That is all.

You cant fault Ryan he has been a boxer longer than most of you have been fans.Dont slag Rhodes for the Small fiasco,Ricky Hatton has made a career out of avoiding domestic level opposition that would have beaten him namely Junior Witter and you lot love him.Small got exposed against Pryce he is a chinese whisper version of Naseem hamed,he does things in the ring that I am sure not even he knows why.Rhodes would have banged him out.Small is a Warren fighter and due to the legal wranglings between Warren/Rhodes and Coldwell ,it wouldnt suprise me that the whole thing was staged just to f**k up Warren et al.

Hopefully Rhodes can move on and fight for a version of the world title it would be the highlight of a good career.

And for all u dumbos who keep askin "What is the 26 thing all about" its to do with the birhdates of him and he kids

"Ricky Hatton has made a carer out of avoiding domestic level opposition that would beat him" - really. Intersting.

£40m his fortune was estimated at in the times rich list. Not bad for a career made from avoiding domestic opposition.

Move on? He skipped a tricky and legitimate defence of the British title! More like moving sideways.

Thanks for answering my question Beagleboy.
Spud - Konecny is the man.
Take a look at his rankings, as opposed to the title he holds - for which Rhodes is now the mandatory.
As for a Rhodes Moore match up - why not ?
As I understand it, both camps are keen on the idea.

He looks a decent fighter, although his record might suggest something of a "nearly man."

Rhodes was supposedly getting one of the highest purses of his career against Small. If he is comfortable enough to forego this and take the summer off, good luck to him.

Has the EU fight been made Ian ?
After June his promoter may not have a TV contract.

I feel only one emoticon is appropriate :geek:

Whats in the pipeline now for Rhodes? I assume he won't be fighting over the summer because of this previously mentioned wedding?

The problem is TV dates Whicker.
No definite info as yet, but would say September v Koneckney.
Unless of course, something springs up in the meantime.

If it is September - sorry not good enough - Rhodes had a decent win last November - his latest fight was a warm up and now you are suggesting he waits after a warm up nealy 6 months before he fights again!!! - I will state again NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Someone of Rhodes abilities and in addition his age he needs to fight regularly to force the issue of a world title fight.

Whilst the geezer you mention is a noteworthy name it is only going to move him up the rankings a tadge.

Sorry Hayemaker - you are doing a lot of good for the sport - but in my opinion it aint good enough for Ryan Rhodes.

Not yet, beagle.

He's the mandatory and they are going to negotiate soon with a view to avoiding purse bids...but will go that route if necessary.

Yeah, I'd say September.

The lad boxes out of Germany so could be on TV over there if not here, who knows?

Spud,
TV dates are TV dates.
You know that as much as the next man.
Don't get what you mean by not good enough.
If there isn't a TV date, what do you suggest ?

Beagleboys - Ryan Rhodes is at the stage in his career where he cannot afford to be patient - I mean no disrespect when I state with regards to World Title shots its now or never - in addition if he is to fight for a world title he needs to be in with quality opposition and that needs to be frequent and that does not mean fighting 6 months apart - Ryan did extremely well in November and there was talk of a big fight fairly soon and I do not mean Anthony Small either!!!

Hayemaker will argue that it is Ryan who withdrew from the Liverpool bill - okay sh*t happens but then if Rhodes is one of the more experienced and high profile fighters within Hayemaker then its they who should move mountains to keep Ryan not only active but fighting quality opposition whilst they canvas support with the governing bodies to obtain a world title shot or a high profile fight.

You then mention a possible September date with this geezer who I cannot spell or pronounce - okay I stand corrected in that he is ranked reasonably high - but he is hardly a household name or even a high profile name within boxing is he??

Watch the interview after Ryan's fight in November - he was excited - he as with other people were under the impression he was going places - since November Rhodes has fought a 6 rounder and there is a "maybe he will fight in September" - I am sorry with the number of dates Hayemaker have wit Setanta - in my opinion the way Ryan Rhodes is being pushed forward is not good enough!!!

I appreciate I do not know all the FACTS - I also appreciate your comment of TV dates - however I was under the impression Rhodes was one of the more high profile fighters under the Hayemaker banner - I feel in my most humble opinion this may not be the case

Having a mere warm up fight in the April and then not fighting until September is simply not good enough for a fighter who should only be fighting in BIG fights

In addition many people have commented on the possibility of a Moore/Rhodes fight - why dont Hayemaker send an unambigious offer to Steve Wood or Maloney Promotions - or dare I say it why dont they follow Moores lead with regards to getting Rhodes in with quality opposition whilst the lobbying with the governing bodies goes on?? - but not waiting until September!!! - you can bet Moore will fight this weekend and again in September if not before!!!

Spud,
I am NOT Beagleboy ffs.
How do you know an approach to Moore's camp hasn't already happened ?
Didn't I say in an earlier post "unless something else comes up in the meantime"
I've got a feeling you've had a bust up with Adam !

I don't give a toss whose on my side on here or not Mr Beagleboys!!! - I am on here to give my opinion - as stated to you I am thoroughly enjoying myself for the 1st time in 10 years I am free to write my honest and to the point opinions - I have no problems in that I stated to you on the phone I am going to thoroughly enjoy being a fan and in addition I also stated that would rile people as whilst I know very little of whats goes on - I know enough to ruffle a few feathers!!!

As for breaking that little respect rule we have Beagleboys in revealing contents of calls - how about I throw one into this thread that you revealed to me on the phone the last time we spoke concerning Ryan :TU: and it would be backed up if a lawyer got on the phone!!!

What you dont like Beagleboys like a lot of people on here who are connected in the sport - its great when nice and positive things are stated on this forum - but as soon as you are cornered or confronted with criticisms you bite like a silly ****!!!

Ryan does not appear to have a plan that makes great sense.

Also fighting 8 rounders against people who will not test him only maka him more likely to get beaten.

Fighting Jamie Moore is not a good move if one loss means your career is over.

He would be better served fighting decent British Fighters IF he has no plan. The Eu Belt is nothing in the big picture and his ranking may go up 1 or 2 places, he will NOT be Mandatory for anythingo.

In a strange sense I think Rhodes best chance of fighting for a World Title is if Jamie Moore wins one and has a voluntary against him.

:D

I arranged a weekend around going to Liverpool to see Rhodes-Small and was gutted when it was called off. Fair enough if it was illness though.

I appreciate all the contract stuff but my gut feel is that Rhodes has avoided/ ducked Small. It may be sensible from a risk/reward perspective but IMO it is what it is.

Quoting this:

Coldwell hopes to re-schedule for April. "In previous fights against Gary Lockett (2006) and Jamie Coyle (last year), Ryan wsn't 100 per cent fit. He lost the first and took a lot of unfair criticism for the second," he added.

Could this be a longer term issue than we perhaps realise?

Hope not.
