This daft cow, who had been writing for a tiny site for five minutes, should have dealt with it herself at the time or shut the f*ck up and sat where she was. Then she tried to be duplicitous.

I am so so glad to be out of all the sh*t of attempting to run websites - I was under this weird illusion that people would appreciate it - by that I mean the fans and people within boxing - I was wrong as boxing is unique in that you will ALWAYS upset someone - and there is also always someone wanting to see you fall and fail miserably.

I am not going to open up the can of worms other than blaming myself completely for the b*llocks that I got myself into - Ben Carey was an absolute pleasure to work with and for - he loves his boxing and his overal goal was the same as mine - we knew we would never as long as we had a hole in our ar*e going to make money but we love the sport and wanted to be involved in some way and provide a service.

I have made some mightily big f*ck ups on the way - the biggest was wanting to stand up for myself when I felt wronged - sometimes thats the wrong thing to do in boxing - as people within the sport like you to grovel to them - some don't like it when you are right.

Life moves on and I have discovered as someone on here pm'd me a few months back and its a very true phrase "you don't kick a dead dog" - and I get a lot more pleasure out of being a simple old fan giving my opinions on things - its f*cking great - I have lost count the amount of threats I have had - some people are even stupid enough to leave them on my answer phone!!

boxrec is a great outlet and its the one I will use for my rants - which on RARE occasions are spot on - I only know that from the aggresive responses and threats I receive!!!

Good news - however the gap of the editor and a very good writer in Dooley has to be filled - therein lies Kevin's biggest problem of all.

People seriously underestimate the job an Editor of a boxing website has to do - the job is huge - the legal stuff is the biggest problem of all - you will be amazed how easily a boxing promoter can be offended and the amount of times they contact websites concerning an "offending" article.

just to clarify my part in the charade, for the 10th time, i contacted frank maloney a few days i think before the event, and was rather necky in asking for a press pass for the event, frank said he would see what he could do and told me to travel and he would certainly welcome a bit of coverage from DHB by myself, i travelled to london with my son, queued up at the arena, purchased a £40 ticket for my son, then went and collected my press pass, which was a ticket in the main stand with some other 'scribes'. as a lovely gesture james russell upgraded my lads ticket so he could sit next to me. i was not even at 'pitch' level let alone at ringside, but i was happy with this as i had only organised my trip at 11th hour. my son and myself had a great evening and did not realise the hassle that had exploded.

i was then openly accused on the net (by ben and spud) of being a liar and told i had been at ringside (not that it was their business anyway, even if i had), despite obviously not having been anywhere near there, i still have my sons ticket stub to confirm his payment, and i still have the video that i filmed of the fight, and i was obviously a long way from the ring. why i became part of the fall out i dont know, but myself and ben/spud had some 'previous' and i guess it was all an overflow of this. i was obviously not impressed at being labelled as a liar and fought my corner as anyone would.

so....thats what happened from my honest point of view, i have no malice with either ben or spud now and in retrospect it was all a load of bollocks, but hey, c'est la vie. at least we can all smile now as the whole thing just does not matter.

Websites come, websites go - if you want to write for someone or get ringside passes, you will always find another one. People falling out over who sits where and who annoyed who? I thought this was a website for boxing fans, not the Gok-wan fan club!

I understand people wanting their articles back from BBN, I am in the same situation although I've not published even close to the likes of McNeil, Dooley, Fennel etc. Hopefully BBN will be back up, or if not, access allowed to all the archives.

The usual boring Ben, Spud & UK forum drama. Every website those two are on either folds or goes down the drain. Then they start their own websites and these too go down the drain.

What I find boring are people who pop up out of the blue with a clear agenda to have a dig at others who've at least had the balls to try and do something.

I have chatted with Ben by PM in the last couple of days - this thread believe it or not is quite refreshing - we wanted "closure" on a lot of things - I did especially. We both made a lot of mistakes as already written - some of those mistakes shall we say were down to being naive to the murky world of boxing and how people work in it.

I will state again its because of the many mistakes I have personally made - I sincerely want places like BB N.net to work - Kevin with the magnificent help of Ian as Editor I thought would have learnt from the mistake the likes of me made - I do not give a sh*t how many times I repeat myself - BB N.net in my view has to survive and Kevin Taylor needs to eat some humble pie if necessary and get the likes of McNeilly back on board. Boxing needs the likes of that site to survive - I am not being alarmist to say that - at the moment the begging bowl is out with regards to TV coverage and it seems now TV channels even if a miracle happens and they do comeback on board - they will hold the sport to ransom - in the meantime we will have Sky TV holding a very unhealthy monopoly on the sport.

So with that we as fans go to the internet for our coverage - secondsout.tv are I am told making giant strides with regards to being in position to show various shows of various standards - I am told its not just big title shows they want to show - but its up to the promoters to approach them. We then have sites like BBN who cover the written side of things which is why in my view they must not fold - yes there are other websites who have very good forums - but - I will argue their coverage with regards to reports and features is p*ss poor - I mentioned secondsout.tv - they are getting worse and worse with regards to their UK coverage. There might be some who will say the promoters themselves have good websites - firstly to that one - how quick and up to date are they with their reports - and secondly are they impartial and we all know the answer to that one.

I am on a mega downer with regards to boxing in this country - unfortunately I do not know when in recent times - certainly the last 25 years - it has been this bad.

We were where we are now before BBC's return in 2001, we were here before ITV's return in 2005.

And back then we didn't have the strength of the internet coverage we have now, and we certainly didn't have Boxing USA, Boxing Classics on Channel 5, re-runs on ESPN Classics and we didn't have fighters who could sell out major venues.

We didn't have numerous Olympic champions.

In 2007 we spoke of a boom for British boxing as we claimed several world champions (belt holders in truth), have things changed THAT much. Setanta has come and gone and I will miss them deeply but they had 1.2million subscribers probably 25% with a keen Boxing interest.

Khan and Hatton remain major news stories, Froch made a break through of sorts and David Haye sold more than half of thr 50,000 tickets for a fight in Germany.

Small hall promoters are back working to make interesting fights, and perhaps, just perhaps a new opportunity, stronger, more resiliant may appear through ESPN UK.

Sky are not tied to FW, and newbie promoters Hatton, Calzaghe, Haye alongside Maloney, Hennessy and the PRIZEFIGHTER series may have work together to keep fighters active, making better fights and more worthy progress for our fighters.

Boxing is healthy in this country, it has great role models in Khan, Haye and Froch and some terrific opportunities for Barker, Macklin, Fury, Munroe in the months ahead to establish themselves. Irish boxing is also booming - Floyd Mayweather is coming back, Hatton is likely to fight again and in two-three months Woods, Witter and Khan could all hold a belt again.

{Just thought I'd throw open the door to vacated optimism bandwagon}

just out of interest, and on the back of spuds comments about seconds out being in a position to show live bills via the net, but, who here, would be prepared to cancel sky sports and subscribe to perhaps a boxingwebsite, with at least 4 or so live bills per month, for about 10 quid per month.

personally i would do it, providing the quality was good and the stream reliable, that is the key !!!

not sure if anyone could set up a poll for this, ive just not got the time today as am busy working.

the bunce boxing hour could also be via this mode.

if the stream was good enough pubs could also show it on the big screen too.

i really think that this could be the way forward.
