14 fighters
7 winners plus the highest ranked loser (ie. fighter who losses a split decision) = 8 fighters
4 fights leaves 4 winners, then 2 fights leaves 2 winners, they fight and winner is the contender champion.
Chamo fights mundine. champ and mundine make alot of money, especially mundine. Mundine does not have to risk fighting worldclass fighter and still gets big paycheck.
Mundine is now a domestic fighter

Anyone know if a dates been set for the show to be aired?
I'm wondering how much of the show is going to be discussed on these boards before it hits tv.

I posted this in another thread and i can't see the fighters listed all being in the show.
Has the contender actually listed who will be on the show?

Victor Oganov Ben McCulloch Shannan Taylor Pradeep Singh Daniel Lovett Tyrone Tongia Nader Hamdan Junior Talipeau Peter Mitrevski Israel Kani Kane McKay S. Michael Angelo Les Piper Luke Moloney.

I hope taylor wins this if he doesn't pull out, he has a minor hand injury but he said a few days ago it could be better within a week
He might need to increase his work rate to beat hamdan

Not enough Aussie participants, so a couple of Kiwis have been included.
The final list will be released later today or Monday

Wrong!
They are not releasing the final list of participants.
However, they will naturally be revealed at each fight night commencing August 14

What a ridiculous concept. How the hell are you supposed to gather interest if you don't know who the heck is fighting?
"hey, you should check out the Oz series of Contender"
"Wow, sounds unreal, who's in it?"
"Umm, I don't know".

Perhaps they figure its better than:
"hey, you should check out the Oz series of Contender"
"Wow, sounds unreal, who's in it?"
"Fighters x, y, z"
"Never heard of em"

The prize money is $25000 for the winner, you can understand why Oganov decided to get paid in October vs green.
Tongia and Kane Mckay have fights scheduled in september in PNG, so they probally wont be in it.

McKay never was. Tongia I was hoping for...
Prediction - Joel Burke wins and goes on to fight Mundine in what the man describes as a fight for the ages, the fight people want to see.

I don't think Metrevski was going to win it anyhow, probally not a smart move considering he 's LT Middle or middle at best.
Taylor was at least a very Dark horse.......very.
It's a bit of a mystery as to who's going to be in this.
I'd like to put these guy's forward Michael Bolling and Jamie Pittman.
