FWank Warren Proudly presents the new IBO, WBU, IBA, WBF HeavyWeight Champion of the world David D Haye, THATS WHERE.
Also talk of getting Edwin Valero on that undercard so I'm not sure whether there would be enough for both fights. Have to wait and see but I don't think it would be good for Roach to be doing two fights back to back.Webbo911 wrote:As far as Khan's next opponent goes, I heard Freddie Roach saying in an interview yesterday he's trying to get Salita for the Pacquiao/Cotto undercard.
He says the big PPV undercards aren't value for money these days and Khan is on record as saying he wants to fight in the States so...

What kind of numbers did teh barrera fight do?
Are they not different sports?russ35uk wrote:lefthook82 wrote:I dont understand. Didnt Amir Khan fill out MEN for Barrera fight. One fight later and its sparse. whats going on?

I'd hazard a guess the reason the MEN was full for Barrera was Barrera!!! A chance to see a legend in the UK... Not Khan... As for the ppv numbers its not surprising.. its taken a recession for people to say enough is enough with the P*ss taking regarding Sky putting on PPV domestic boxing shows.... Why pay £14.95 for dross when a week earlier UFC gave everyone their biggest show ever for free!!!! Terrible PR!!!!
I think twenty six is right here, it was a seven figure purse. Sports Network (RIP) were convinced Haye was dead at the weight.twenty six wrote:Mickey,
I'll bet you he did !
He hit the jackpot - 7 figures.
try telling that to the boxers when they come home with half their "purse"twenty six wrote:That's just a play on words, Mickey.
A purse is a purse.
That exceeded 7 figures, so if you want a full accountancy report, then ok with deductions etc it may have been just shy of 7 figures.
However, you must then factor in where that victory led to, and his earnings thereafter.
Wazza launched Haye into the big time and wasn't even his Promotor !
Love it.
I love it too, but what I love most of all was that Haye tricked the Warren camp into thinking he was weight drained - the only reason why they took the Maccarinelli fight. Then Haye talking trash on Warren was classic - "I'd hate to have to be a charity for Warren" "I'm never doing business with him again" etc.twenty six wrote:That's just a play on words, Mickey.

Or, in the case of Tim Witherspoon v Frank Bruno, about 9%.mickey1975 wrote:try telling that to the boxers when they come home with half their "purse"twenty six wrote:That's just a play on words, Mickey.

i know when i saw him in huddersfield the live gate would barely have covered his expense,so if he was a wealthy man before the macca fight, god knows who was generated it.yiddo14 wrote:Haye didn't need to clear a million in the Macca fight to become a Millionaire I wouldn't have thought.
Do we think he had accumulated the grand total of zilch from all his fights before that?
Take away the Macca fight and Haye would still be a wealthy fella.

I note you always find time to come on here to dish out the insults with me - could you also find a few more seconds to answer the questions concerning the attendance at the MEN when Khan fought Kotlenik and the claim that PPV was an extremely low 30,000 or so?
Come on boxingchat - without the insults - Twentysix has asked the questions perfectly politley yet you fail to answer - but i note you are always ready to trade the insults?
