Say what you want about Hatton, but at least he showed massive heart in every fight, from Magee to Collazo - Mayweather even admitted that Hatton was one of the most determined fighters he had faced after shipping loads of clean counters. Witter quitting in a world title fight is pathetic. No heart. I look at Cotto's eye against Clottey, Hatton after three rounds vs Maussa and Williams vs Potter, plus millions more, and that's heart. After all the talk, Witter quits. I wanted him to win, but he's now living in the bed he made.

Never quit in a world title fight, unless he's an amazingly bad injury.

Hatton would batter witter if they fought now. What would Junior do to keep Hatton off, he throws about five punches a round.

Hatton has been starched by Pacquaio and Mayweather, both men are all time greats, Witter is a minor belt holder with some ability, but who has always had some major flaws. Khan's win over Kotelnik recently puts Witter's level of ability into perspective. Khan Beat Kotelnik by a wide margin, with far less experience than Junior, and having never fought at 147. Witter almost lost the fight after throwing away almost half the fight doing nothing.

Hatton's punch resistance may have deteriorated, but just because Pacquaio banged him out, don't make the mistake of thinking Junior would do the same. When has Junior ever knocked out anyone of world class?

When was the last time Ricky Hatton didn't struggle with a Southpaw?

he was ultimately outclassed.

but to say he didn't compete that night is a Dennis comment tbh.

American TV(especially HBO) despise Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I gave Hatton 1 round, can't remember which one and to be fair there were some close ones but at the time of the KO Mayweather really had turned on the style and would have beaten Hatton quite clear on points anyway, he gave it his best shot and got beaten, he won't be the last fighter to be like that either.

The going out on the shield thing is a load of nonsense anyway, it's like when Oscar quit against Manny, what could Oscar have done? He was clearly getting weaker and Manny was getting more and more ferocious, it's just pissing into the wind really isn't it.

Witter on the other hand did a "Duran" he quit in a fight which was still up for grabs, only difference is Duran redeemed himself whereas Witter won't.

I think I gave him round 1 and round 5, but don't quote me on that.

So was I, but I remember being jolted wide awake and sober when Hatton pushed Mayweather back with that jab in round 1 - looking back though, it looked like a balance thing, but when it happened....

Witter lost 2 fast hungry younger guys, Hatton would not quit, he would be ktfo!

Hatton would never fight a hungry fighter yet alone a hungry younger one - he didn't in his prime why would he now?
