Well I did bite , petty insults on the forum annoy me slightly. And alcohol was a factor I admit that. I'm surprised I'm not banned to be honest.

You were right and I was wrong. Also I apologize for any ungentlemanly names I called you in response to being labelled a moron.

Essentially though....you seemed to be coming from the point of view of, let's call it Optimism, for Harrison. And I am coming from the point of view of having watched in disgust really as the idiot that is Harrison sat and proclaimed himself future undisputed heavyweight champ after beating an ill prepared, in on 3 weeks notice Danny Williams. Don't forget this was AFTER Dominic Guinn, the coward fest that was Williams I....etc..etc...
I think Harrison has great tools and a great physique to be very successful. However, he is lacking in other elements (quite severley), so when he proclaims his imminent greatness to keep getting those paychecks, that, to me, is utterly pathetic. He should not be taken seriously.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that having won this competition Harrison has already (Re-)announced his bad intentions on the World stage......please tell me it ain't so.

If thats a sort of appology? .. then its accepted.
I`ll take some responibility to stupidly refering to your posts as moronic .. it just kinda stuck in my throat some how you initially dismissed Audleys chances off-handedly .. I`m no fan of his by a long shot. Just knew the level of competition of heavyweights in this country - and the 3rnd format would seriously favour Fraudley ... I guess I got carried away with being proven correct(for once)

no sweat TonyEvs......I have deleted my child like remarks although I realise that this does not make it OK to have used them, and yes, as said, it was an apology. To be honest it's only a character like Harrison that could provoke me like that, anything else and I wouldn't have been bothered I don't think.

Clearly I recognised the similarity between the Amateur format, and the Prizefighter format, but...I felt that Harrisons reluctance to commit himself would still be his undoing, against the better fighters in the tournament. So yeah you probably deserve a bit of credit for picking him.

Mind you (and I have seen none of the show as yet)....were you surprised, I was , at the manner of Harrison's victory. It sounds, from what I've read like a pretty clinical KO. Did he score KD's in any other fights...the BBC write up was not in depth.

Also, I guess where you're due credit for picking A FORCE (let's give him his grand title after picking up his first Pro trophy), I bet you had egg on your face at what happened to Williams.

as a side point btw, when I stated Harrison would not win the comp, Mr Sprott was still involved at that time. So on that basis I was never actually proved wrong mate :box:

I can`t really say I was surprised that Williams fell at the first hurdle - the same will probably be correct about anybody else who has followed Williams the last few years.

Whilst Sprott levelled Harrison before. That was a fight where Fraudley showed aggresion for once. I doubted very much he would show so much as a sniff if he had to fight Sprott again - instead he would out box him as he was easilly doing before the Sprott bomb.

I`m more interested in what promoter will take Fraudley on now .. if any.

hahaha, Tony - he was still a part time cabbie 3 quarters of his size it doesn't matter if he knocked out Ivan Drago shortly afterwards (which was a complete upset btw).

but you are correct, we'll find out soon, altho' I'm not aware of the date, but I would happily wager that Audley will not win this.If he doesn't, he will be laughed at, and if he does, he will stink the joint out no doubt and become even less respected in professional boxing than he already is. He's in a lose lose situation if you ask me. There's no longer a place for him in the game , and he has achieved this embarrassing status all by himself by constantly running his big mouth.

i might go just for the cringe factor, not to mention the intrigue of how he would deal if faced with Sprott. Where is it at, the York Hall?

I am not a sadist, I would not want to see the guy hurt or badly sparked likehe was last time, but I really don't see how a scared fighter in the first place is going to deal with a guy that destroyed him once already. Fair play to him for putting himself back in that situation though.

However, I feel he's just in it for the money and to have some kind of public profile, rather than the glory, and I think that's how you can end up getting hurt, or so I've been told.
No big surprise Fraudley winning - that is if you know even a small amount about the sport. Just glad I put £20 on Fraudley after reading the consistently moronic posts of Northeastboxingfan :D
6-1 odds .. easy money :TU:
I smell BS. Who on earth gave you 6-1 on the tournament favourite??

William Hill. And Danny Williams was the favourite right up to fightnight .. who do you know had Audley as favourite a month before fightnight?

audley was a best price 11/8 favourite a week before fight night.williams was 6/4.i didnt see the odds a month before but doubt the withdrawal of sprott and holden would force audley in form 6's to 11/8,evens in places.no oddsmaker would ever have had audley that price in what was, originally,a three horse race

They even stated in the studio that audley had 6/1 odds and the bookies had taken a right bashing from the tournament.

It was either him or Williams. Even if the odds were from when Sprott was still in, I just can't see anyone making him such a longshot.

Then I guess the bookmakers are kicking themselves that their own people didn`t know as much as you .. or me for that matter :TU:
From what I remember - Williams and Sprott were clear favourites. Audley was - if you like it or not - 6-1 when I put my money down. Maybe the reason was the bookies just seen him def losing to Sprott or Williams .. maybe they saw him pulling out .. who can say?
Either way - makes no difference what you now think .. the odds offered were what they were ... I guess your sour cos of hindsight .. and i`m sour cos I was too tight to put a larger wager on it :D

No, I'm not sour at all. I'm just very surprised at those odds. It was ALWAYS seen as virtually a three-way race, and at worst a third-favourite out of 8 is usually shorter odds than 6-1. Anyway, I'll just have to take your word for it; just as I said, surprised at that. Bookies don't usually get it so wrong. OK, there are always upsets, but this wasn't really. Even from the earliest announcements of this tournament, there was a substantial body of informed opinion (i.e knowledgeable fans/observers) picking Harrison, even if perhaps he wasn't the outright favourite.

from the "outset" outset, Audley Harrison was pitched in a tourney with a man that badly startched him. KO's come no more definitive. He would not have had the mental strength to have overcome Michael Sprott. Of this I am certain. So anybody that had him favourite , on that premise, really needs to be asking themselves some questions. imho.
