Just went to buy the PPV, until I saw this:

"You will be charged a registration fee of £2.50 plus the cost of this PRIMETIME event at £12.95"

Absolutely pathetic. I was planning to support Primetime, in the hopes that they could fill the void left by Setanta, but I didn't expect them to also adopt the same shady customer service practises, too. If you advertise a fight at £12.95.... then charge £12.95! Don't go hitting people with these idiotic hidden charges.

" :witzend:

As of about a year ago (when I last checked), BN was selling about 10k as an average on the newsstand. Add in a fairly healthy subscriptions base (I'd guess around 3k) and you're talking a 13k circ with a 'pass-on' rate of 2/3, so total readership is roughly 30-35k.
All sounds good until you get to "pass on rate". Total bollocks that people pass on copies of ANY magazine to 2, 3 people. Just bollocks.
id disagree with you there matey . i firstly think he meant 2 out 3 people pass on their mags to others not that it gets passed on 2 or 3 times , i for one and my brother too both pass on our boxing news mags , trying to turn our mates that are casual fans into well informed pals , so of the 2 of us we both pass on the mags , thats 2 out of 2 , maybe we have a freind who doesnt but i can believe the 2 out of 3 as a possibility

Agreed

He just comes on here with his negative bollocks about Boxing and telling us how good the ufc is doing, its very immature and became boring a long time ago especially as he talks as much crap about mma as he does on Boxing. He's freely admitted he's just here to take the piss yet is still allowed to post here as he has some BUMCHUM friends here.

Remember this is the guy who felt the need to announce in a thread that he was going to leave Boxrec for a few months only to then come back here a few weeks later by announcing in another thread he was back!

Genuinely depends on the type of mag - enthusiast niche mags like BN do generally have that type of pass on rate.
Would be interesting to get the feedback of BN readers on here to see how many other people read their copy of the mag as that would be a crude benchmark.

Just as good as a UFC card, both main events plus undercard. Plus, there is a wider long term picture. I want to pay for it, but bloody lack of phone line is stopping me. :(

Sorry Ant, simply not true:

http://www.nrs.co.uk/purpose.html

I should point out I'm no Boxing News apologist and have no specific stats on their pass-on rate so it could well be lower, but the NRS is the accepted metric by advertisers, not a promotional tool for publishers.

Just think of what percentage of their readership live with someone else? Christ the shit I've read because it's been left in the bathroom. I used to get BN, when I was living at home 1 brother would read it cover to cover and the other the odd bit.

When I was living in a shared house I reckon almost everyone in it (7 blokes) read some of it.
