Inventing things makes your argument redundant, you do know that don't you? If they were such weak punches, why was Frochy cringing away from them & getting rattled by them?
A bit of hyperbole is all well & good, but I have finished talking to you as you seem divorced from consensus reality.
many of dirrell's shots were not great punches. often they stop slightly sort of the target or simply bounce off targte uselessly as he doesn't try to hit THROUGH the target. they are flashy movie style shots with not a great deal of practical use. in boxing you are taught to hit through the targte, not at the target. dirrell is pulling back becfore the punch can land. he could be in the wrong sport because he refuses to risk getting hit.
I think your almost gay love for froch is blinding you from reality. Dirrell wasnt the hardest hitter but he was stopping froch in his tracks, we are also taught to avoid being hit in boxing and close down opponents - two lessons froch clearly missed. When froch meets kessler who does have power in his shots he'll be lucky if he doesnt end up in a coma, taking that many shots in the face.

you seldom see that level of negativity in world class boxing. it is a rarity, and i feel bad for froch, that his super 6 opener came vs such a horirble fighter.
can amir fight anyone with a punch? not long ago the Q was could he fight a domestic opponent who wasn't coming off a KO loss or moving up from 130...
Lol you talk some rubbish, you want to watch prize fighter level performances by the sounds of it. Dirrell clearly ran away form froch for the first 9 rounds but froch couldnt close him down (that doesnt exactly scream world class to me) and then when dirrell did decide to box he clearly beat dazzled and beat froch with ease. One more round like that and he would have won the fight.
Khan cant fight anyone with a punch hmm he knocked out quite a few punchers limond for a start.
You rarely see that type of fighting in world class fights hhmmmmm the name Floyd Mayweather Jr springs to mind, have you ever heard of him.
floyd mayweather makes damn sure he doesn't take hard shots but he doesn't fight like THAT. mayweather could synthesise punching and movement - look at the corrales fight. dirrell is trying to be RJJ and we saw the last guy who tried to do that - derek gainer - who stank out big fights and ended his career answering boxingtalk's mailbag - "you read it here first!"
what you're doing is wrong. you are saying i don't like skilled boxing because i didn't appreciate the running of dirrell. dirrell had no confidence in his own shots. he was out of range to avoid shots but he was too far back to land anything of consequence himself. it was awful watchingt his. froch is good enough to get his licks in - see pascal, see taylor - even if it took him til the end. would i have preferred froch to cut ring down with utmost efficiency and get to dirrell? yes of course. froch lacks the variety or speed to do this. dirrell signed the stalemate, decison went against him, got what he deserved.
froch has taken some hard shots from taylor and pascal, but has never been blasted out, as khan was.
murray will deliver, when he gets his chance.

Maybe Khan should just smash up murray and shut his mouth for him. Unfortunatley we may have to wait for murray to become a world name, so the fight will probably take place in 2020 where some fighter have been replaced by robots and bionically enhanced women.
Same with Audley Harrison, the people in this country support the underdog and seem to hate the real champions or anyone who gets beaten at any point, if Calzaghe had been English rather than Welsh i bet he would have the same problem. The scots and the welsh always back their champions, and i remember when Calzaghe fought robin reed he got loads of flack from the english supporters.
that's it, let's wait for john murray and carl froch to "turn their backs on the UK" due to fan hatred and bitterness
don't go, lads! he din't mean it!
audley proved to be rubbish and amir was knocked out in a round on his PPV debut. you have a lot of faith?
Exaclty the opinion i would expect you to have. I noticed you missed out the bit about Harrison winning an olympic gold medal for his country and Khan winning a silver and then going on to take a world title.
Compared to froch who's beaten one good fighter and is likely to be not only beaten but completely schooled in his next fight and murray who beat? who? thaxton, a fighter who is not on the same level as prescott and has been nothing more than test fight for up and coming fighters for the last 3 years. Respect!
jesus kingfinn you do really bum khan

. atleast froch actually is worth watching.plus he's beaten 1 good fighter? are you mad? dirrell..pascal.taylor theres 3 good un's right there. who has khan fought? kotelnik= european level at best

35 year old blown up lightweight barrera who he beat on cuts

An GEMMEL he didnt beat dirrell he lost he just didnt loose badly enough to counteract home crowd and title holder advantage (the majority of people who saw the fight were calling it a robbery) its like saying valueve beat holyfield, froch did beat pascal who is the one fighter i was reffering to, other than that he's only beat taylor who's clearly on his last legs and clearly outboxed froch until the last 12 seconds of their fight.

Autobarn simply overrates pressure fighters and has something against skilled boxers who use intelligence and skill to hit and not get hit. Dirrell was landing more punches and if not for a bogus judge scoring rounds the wrong way (which we all surely agree on), Dirrell would have technically been declared winner of the fight. Dirrell probably did win the fight for me. No I didn't enjoy watching him, but you don't score on that basis. You go round by round and dirrell won more. It was close though, but dirrell probably nicked it. The best Froch should have gotten was a draw.

Well Amir,
In the last two years you have been banned for 40 odd days for driving your super-charged Range Rover at 150+ MPH and have also knocked over an maimed an old guy using a pelican crossing.
Then the other week you crashed into a cyclist :-
In the meantime everyone from Bunce to the whole of internet land declared your fight with the hand-picked weakest 140lb champion in Kotlenik a bore and that it goes without saying your glass chin was utterly exposed by the unheralded Breidis Prescott.
Whilst Breidis still lives in slum, you live in an apartment block with P-diddy and Snoop Dogg.
And dont get me started on your treatment and subsequent gagging order on Oliver Harrison, a damn good trainer who deserved better than that.
Your a turd.
Good post and totally agree.
Nail on the head . He would rather be ran out of town then stay and fight John Murray looks like Amir or his Team are worried about fighting him after all otherwise he would demand the fight be made.
If John Murray is som much better than Khan, why doesn`t he get a promoter who can put him into the position where Khan has to fight him, or give up his title?

Kingfinn, to give you some credit - You claim Amir Khan is more exciting than Carl Froch?
I completely agree with you mate....
Froch can't hold a candle to this kind of thrilling entertainment
http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/news/ ... ticle.html
Before I finish, I do think it would be rude not to follow up on last week's piece on young Amir Khan. What can I say!
I didn't order the fight as I couldn't agree with it being a Box Office event, but upon watching the highlights on the news it looked like Amir had been hit with a lump hammer. He was knocked out as badly and even faster than when I ko'd Damon Hague in the first round of my British title win.
In my opinion, the so-called soon to be World Champion has from the start of his career been over-hyped and very carefully matched in order to create an aura of invincibility and sell an unrealistic product to the non-boxing public.
You can fool some people some of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time. Exposed is a word that springs to mind. There have been question marks on Khan's ability to take a punch and I think we all agree this was answered on Saturday night. I'm just glad he is in good health, but the road back looks long and hard.

It was funny how Khan didn't mention anything about negativity in this country before he lost to Prescott. He was always saying how he loved the British public and how many boxers respected him.
I think the public has got a right not to be the greatest fans of him and his posse. He gets on PPV really early in his career and loses by not boxing sensibily and not just loses but gets knocked out brutally.
If any other boxer done that they would build up their career, fighting one or 2 more at British/European level and then humbily wait for their chance. If you look at Murray, who's still undefeated, he has a similar record to Khan before his knock out by Prescott. Murray has done what should happen, learn gradually through fights and finally get title's that you deserve not rush through your career fighting has beens and title holders who would of never been title holders if it wasn't for having about 10 different world title's, just look at Kotelinks record, didn't really fight anyone to get the world title, a bit like Khan really.
If Khan really wants to win over the British public then he should fight Murray, and beat him easy. He shouldn't of treated McCool like he did and he shouldn't be trying to fool boxing fans by trying to suggest that he's had a tough time of it.
That's not to mention his constant speeding and living like a arogant pop star with his overpriced products

Frochs a clown and the most overated fighter in the UK, and murray is just trying to make a career for himself off khans back.
If murray spent as much time trying to get some decent fights as he does complaining that olympic and world champion amir khan hasnt wasted his time knocking him out, then he might get himself on the world stage and finally earn the chance to get in the ring with khan.
The problem is the english public like to blame there problems on everyone else getting it easier.. People on the council estates complain the polish are taking there jobs and what not. They could just get off their arses work hard, train hard and search for a job, but they would rather sit at home blaming their lives on others. Thats why murray is supported, because he sitts about complaining he's hard done by.
Thats how murray is, boo hoo khan doesnt have to fight for no money in small halls because hes got a silver medal and worldwide interest, poor me. He should be saying im going to smash up every fighter i meet, take the european title and then take a world title, then when ive got that it might be lucrative for Khan to fight me. Not khan should fight me for pennies when he could be earning millions and put his career on the line in a fight noone outside england cares about just so i might get on the world stage for it.
And then people complain that Khan is taking the easy route, when murray is trying to do the same thing but cant.
good post mate
i agree with whoever said, if i was khan and getting booed at hatton weighins/press conferences or whatever it was, by my 'home' supporters, i woudl think about going elsewehere too
seemingly, he could live in the US and not receive the kind of jealousy-inflicted agenda that hates on him for getting paid more money than john fookin murray
by the way i agree with the poster who says murray has never been and will never be in khan's class, IMO murray should think he is lucky that he never has the chance to get humiliated by khan
IMO the murray-love on here is not much different, and with a similar agenda, to thek ind of love that said Jamie Moore could have a chance vs Paul Williams.

john murray has produced some excellent boxing of recent. we've seen british fighters come through to world class. what did i hear - haye not tough enough to win at world level? khan too chinny & amateurish? froch's guard too low for world class? they came through to wrld level and so will john murray. pressure fighter jamie moore staged an astonishing rally - gave more in a fight than i've seen a british fighter in many a year - with nothing left. is there a miore natural warrior in all of british boxing? a great volley of sustained power punching. it was an awe-inspiring sight. when he has more gas up at middleweight - watch out! don't worry if you turn out to be wrong. i won't hold it against you.
by 'eck lirva. if you could have things your way, barry mcguigan would have ran, slapped, cuffed, and fallen over en route to wide & painful UD loss to pedroza. don't 'it body! don't sit down on left 'oook! don't cut ring down! don't block and parry, barry! be a twat, be a pickpocket, and get your just rewards by the judges...fight like a journeyman who doesn't want to get KO'd so that he can fight again 10 days later (don't take the chance by scruff of neck; fritter it away & be a clown)!
I love this forum. It is great.

Khan's moaning about bitterness & jealousy, but what else is new? Those people exist in life, get over it! Is he so naive that no one would be jealous or bitter towards him? Please!
Talk is cheap & proves nothing, so instead of threatening to go, why not just pack, on a plane & away he goes? He has the money to do it so if he really wants to go, nothing is really stopping him!
After threatening to go, does he think someone is going to start a petition titled: PLEASE STAY AMIR?

I am not a fan of Khan, although I do accept he is a very talented boxer. I dont see him lasting long as a World champion because even with an improved defence, sooner or later a hard hitter is going to find a way through it and deck him once again. As a person, I am not sure I like him, because of his treatment of Oliver Harrison, and his total disregard for other road users. I cant claim to be a fan of Froch either.

Exactly only british boxing fans have heard of murray and the same can be said of froch unless your in nottingham. If you mention Khan, Hatton or calzaghe then people know who your talking about.
