I dont think so, I feel he'll be stronger at lightweight. He'd more likely lose if he stayed at superfeather and struggled with the weight.

There are loads of different threads appearing at the minute in relation to who Kevin will next be fighting. Is there anyone that can actually confirm that Kevin is vacating his British Super Featherweight Title and there are other threads courtesy of FWTV that he is going to be fighting Bredis Prescott.
Will he actually be fighting in Newcastle or will he not?
Anyone have any concrete answers?

would be interesting if FW can use te man who derailed khan (for about 5 minutes) as stepping stone to build mitchell.
boxing needing to do more, and delivering the hard fights, in recession?
reward, or punishment, for mitchell?
always saw mitchell as a lightweight. not sure about him at world level, not at bloody lightweight. he has some fast hands & good chin but maybe not solid enough all round.

It says here that no date of venue has been decided yet......So whats happening with Mitchell's 5 Dec date? I assumed that he pulled out of the Burns fight because the Prescott fight was going to happen on that date. Mitchell has to be carefull he doesn't miss the boat, he's in his prime years and is being inactive to much. I wont be surprised if he does'nt fight at all now for the rest of this year.

I noticed that, and without wanting to throw more rumours about, think that a fight of this magnitude should be in London, "on Kevins own patch"

i think he will be better at lightweight, his last few fights were at that weight and yes they were with journeymen but he felt stronger, time will tell

FW has had his fingers burnt with Prescott as an opponent for one of his lads already, so why do it again. Mitchell may do better than Khan but if he gets stopped he is going to have to rebuild as Khan had to. Tough fight for Mitchell who will have a size disadvantage.

KEVIN MITCHELL has a great chance to make a statement next month when he fights Breidis Prescott in a world title eliminator.
Kevin is unbeaten in 29 fights and has picked up the British and Commonwealth titles. But he has been slightly overshadowed by Amir Khan, beaten in the first round by Prescott last year.

This month's BBBofC notices better say either that Mitchell has relinquished the British title or has been stripped.
What a farce Mitchell's British title reign was.

It is in Boxing News too. If true I can see them offering Prescott enough money to drag himself down to super feather, making him weight drained and beatable.

British title itself is sadly becoming a bit of a farce these days.
