bad mamma jamma wrote: too true, the security were standing at the bottom of the steps doing nothing, bet they didnt chuck one particular guy out afterwards did they? terrible behaviour and unfortunately is reflective on the type of d'cks that seem to go to boxing events these days..also at each event security is terrible, just a token effort, that guy who was giving N'Dou sh@t should have been chucked out...finally, matt hatton is domestic class at best and easily lost the fight
This is an ongoing problem:

1. Security failing to deal with abusive/threatening fans.

2. Security failing to move people who block others views.

3. Failure to control or prevent crowd violence.

4. Direct abuse at the boxers- I've seen fans stand at the edge of the barrier and yell racist abuse at boxers as they walked past. Nowhere else (in no other workplace) would this be tolerated.

Asking £40 upwards a ticket is serious money these days- people will stop going if issues like this are not addressed. And indeed, boxers- being employees of a kind- have the right to work without abusive or mistreatment.

I actually feel safer at a football match than I do at a boxing event, the last card I went to was the Witter v Harris bout, that wasn't bad but I remember the shitheads stood behind me and the missus at Hatton v Maussa shouting the anti-"spic" nonsense, she wasn't very comfortable being Mexican-American as you can imagine. One of my mates got caught up in the middle of a punchup at one of Khans fights getting a kicking first from a gang of foaming at the mouth Asians and then by a gang of sombrero wearing Mancs as he tried to get out.

Too many caveman types at boxing these days and absolutely hopeless security.

Khan Barrera fight was a fcking joke. Some young Asian lad 3 rows behind me kept waving this ticket about and declaring that this other geezer was in his seat. That geezer then produced his own ticket.....the 2 lads themselves were very amicable with each other but that's a bit of a fluke in itself considering some of the utter tosspots that attend boxing shows.

3 or 4 security staff "monitored" the situation from 20 yards away before a 50 plus gentleman named "Steph"...elected to come into the situation to sort things out.

His 3 (younger) colleagues looked on in dread as if "Steph" had just basted himself in chum and was about to dive into a Bond villain's private shark tank........."Steph....DON'T BE STUPID" they said "....YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE ON YOUR OWN STEPH!!! :( "
(although none of the a**-hole deficient high viz vest (younger than "Steph") coat hangers actually offered to help him).

Meantime the lad in the seat is sat there with this young lad nearly sat on his lap and the crowd, by now following this carry on, start to cheer....."Go on Steph!" "Good lad Steph!!" ......as Steph proceeds to try to sort the mess out while his 3 cowardly colleagues look on..........

I can only assume they printed a ticket twice but neither the organisation, not the security, filled you with any sense of confidence WHATSOEVER. And that was just my section. Goodness knows what was going off in others.

ps. Good lad Steph :TU:

Football is well controlled, and moreover violence simply isn't tolerated.

Also there is a pro-active approach to drunken fans.

Isnt it football fans going to these events who spoil it for boxing fans?

I didn't see it so have to go along with the consensus, however the glove touching is rubbish in my opinion. If you make it to the end touch gloves to show repsect but don't do it every round it's just annoying...

It weren't an 'end of the round' thing. It was after Ndou got pulled for a low-blow, he tried to touch gloves but was blanked.

Who cares, Ndou had abused Hatton in the build up and cracked him in the balls. Why would Hatton want to touch gloves with him?

And to be fair do we really expect fighters to act pally, pally during fights anyway? A touching of gloves before the final round when instructed by the referee is fine and more than enough.

Most of the idiots are not true fans :box:

Nah just retards, although the snobs like to blame it on the football crowd though.

Apparently he had a go at someones dad in a pub - asked the guy to 'move your effin dog'' - the guys son followed him into the toilets and tumped (punched) him to the ground from behind and kicked him in the head a few times.

So I heard!

It could be they are "fans" of 10 cock bukkake.

Thats not the point.

The point is this element, whatever they are "fans" of are not control or curbed- and thats what spoils it.
