Kablam!
So weighing in only once makes him a Middleweight? I don't understand the rest who you are referring to but........
Siaca is not that bad an opponent and I think we will see that on April 14th,but should Danny put on a stella performance and KO him in 122 seconds the excuses are already there that Manny is a blown up middleweight (which is bullshit).I would like to know who relaistically Greeny should have got ?? It would appear he did everything to get Bhop and Tarver and missed out and decided to go with a bloke who was prepared to do business....and brings something else to the table.
Should RJJ beat Bhop, dont be surprised if Green v RJJ 2 comes off. A big if though.
Danny Green switching IBO boxing title defence to Perth
February 24, 2010 Danny Green will switch his world boxing title defence against Manny Siaca from Sydney to hometown Perth after the West Australian government agreed to provide backing.
WA Premier Colin Barnett has announced Green will put his IBO title on the line against Puerto Rican Siaca at Perth's Challenge Stadium on April 18.
The fight was originally set down for the Sydney Entertainment Centre on April 14.
The move comes with the WA Government eager to snare any future Green v Anthony Mundine re-match.
Barnett was widely criticised after refusing government support that could have taken Green's recent successful title defence against legendary Roy Jones Jr to Perth instead of Sydney where it was held.
Sports Minister Terry Waldron refused to acknowledge the government had made a mistake in failing to secure the Green-Jones fight and said the bout with Siaca was "a great opportunity" for Perth.
"The last fight was in Sydney and that's been and gone," Waldron told Fairfax Radio.
"There were some misunderstandings. That was unfortunate.
"The great thing about gaining this fight here is that it puts us in a good position to perhaps get the fight - and I'm sure it will happen - between Anthony Green and Anthony Mundine."
Challenge Stadium has hosted most of Green's fights since his professional career began in 2002.
Barnett said the announcement would provide an opportunity for Green to fight in front of his home town fans while providing international media coverage through pay TV.

I read somewhere the other day, the only backing it'll provide is FOC soon to be completed new venue.

I reckon it means Briggs won't be on the undercard as Challenge Stadium is too small to hold both of them. I'm shattered its not in Sydney...
Hopefully my old trainer Robbie Bryant will be on the undercard if it's going to be in Perth. It would be about a year after he lost a split decision (Ben K scored it right!) to Frank LoPorto, and he's only fought once since.
Can we get some confirmation regarding the date of this bout. I checked with GMP the day prior to the tkts going on sale and was advised it was Wednesday the 14th. I purchased the tkts on the ticketmaster site and it stated the fight was on Wednesday the 14th. I see Boxrec have it as Sunday the 18th....makes abig difference when you are travelling 1600kms to watch !!!

Bloody hell, you are keen. Where abouts do you live over there?
A small town just out of karratha in the pilbara.
The way I look at it is this is probably the last time we will see Danny fight in Perth. His next BIG fight whether it be Choc, Briggs, Bhop etc etc etc wont be in Perth regardless what our state govt does. Hey and airfares arnet that bad.....what kills ya is accom. thats why I want clarification of the date.
Ticketmaster and Green Machine Prom are saying the fight is Wed 14th April.
I have queried it again with GMP after seeing boxrec. Once I get the date again from them I will let ya know.
