Whoever decided that a tenner (plus the 2.50 or so charge for first time viewers) is a good price point for a Klitschko-Chambers fight in the UK needs to think again.
None, and I mean none, of my mates are even aware that one of the Klits is fighting soon - so the interest to the general public is zero. To boxing fans, we have Sky subs, plus ppvs like Froch on primetime, Haye on box office and probably Khan on box office all coming up soon. A tenner is very steep for this. If it was a fiver, I am pretty sure you would more than double the amount of people taking it up.

No not any more, your sky box doesn't have to be connected to your phone line, you will have to phone up and register and then you will be able to select the channel.
If you want to press and select, you need a phone line.
Hope this helps! :-)

As others have stated, no way is this worth the money it's being offered for, not in this day and age when perfectly good streams will be available come the night.

Yeah, that's a great idea, do you think you'll many people round to watch?
I'm thinking about inviting a few of my friends round to do the same sort of thing now! :-)

Everyone.
Haye v Wlad has the excitement as Wlad could get sparked but generally his fights are not the most spectator friendly

woah no, this one was worse than usual im sure.
EDIT: Im sure it was sultan, also, cant believe Wlad has only fought 4 times in 2 years... thought he'd been a lot more active.

The fight where they both refused to fight and Wlad put more effort into slapping down Ibrabimov's occasional attempts at jabs than he did actually trying to force anything. Dreadful...

I dont blame primetime for trying to get world class boxing back on our screen but if I was one of the big wigs at primetime I would not have touched this fight with a barge pole.
Your always going to have trouble charging the british public anything more than they're sky subscribtion for a fight that doesn't involve a popular british fighter unless it's an international megafight like pac v mayweather and lets be honest klitschko is like watching grass grow.
If it was a fiver i'd be tempted.

It's quite a big risk then. Say a very casual fan decides they have nothing better on and decides to go with this and it turns out to be one of his poorer performances where he is scared to engage a fighter much smaller than himself with limited power. After shelling out a tenner to watch something that has bored them to tears, how many will ever do it again??

Personally I won't pay Primetime another penny after the last time (Froch Dirrell). The customer service was appalling, the lady I spoke to while trying to fix the problem just kept saying it was my fault as I had unplugged my Skybox from the phoneline - which I didn't.
I emailed asking about a refund after this, but after hearing nothing back simply decided never to use the service again, and ensure I let people know how they will be treated by this company should there be a problem. I can have no other opinion than "Primetime = Scam", based upon my one experience with them, yet this could have been so easily different had they made a little effort. As far as I am concerned, they took my money and I received nothing in return, other than aggressive customer service and not even the decency to reply to my emails.

I don't think we realised how lucky we were with Setanta.
They were absolutely awesome.
Fights this year like Leuvano-Lopez and Alexander-Urango would have been on Setanta for certain.
Give them their due, they knew boxing.

Yea setanta was an absolute god send wasn't it?How I miss bunces boxing hour
Looking back we had it really good for a while didn't we?
We had hayemaker + arum + huck and other german shows on setanta,we had froch + witter + decent hennesey shows on itv/itv4 and we had sky showing warrens stable + maloneys and the occasional card from the states.I think I miss bunces boxing hour more than anything though, that was the best boxing round up show ever aired in this country imo.

Primetime Secure Virgin On Demand for
Klitschko V Chambers and Froch V Kessler
Heavyweight Championship
When: 20th March 2010 From 8:00pm
What: Wladimir Klitschko (IBF, WBO) V Eddie Chambers
Super Six Group stage 2 and WBC Super Middleweight Title Fight
When: 24th April 2010 From 9:00pm
What: Carl Froch (WBC) V Mikkel Kessler
Where: All on Primetime: Sky Channel 480 and now via Virgin On Demand > Live Events
Sport and events channel Primetime will now be available on Virgin TV via On Demand > Live Events. Since Primetime launched on the Sky platform in October 2009 with the Super Six Super middleweight boxing tournament there has been great demand for Primetime to expand onto Virgin by both boxing fans and promoters alike. The deal sees Primetime’s reach expand by over a third.
The action begins on Virgin this Saturday (20th March at 8pm) with Heavyweight title bout between ‘Dr Steelhammer’ Wladimir Klitschko and ‘Fast Eddie’ Chambers. Wladimir Klitschko will defend his WBO and IBF Heavyweight belts against American Eddie Chambers at Dusseldorf's Esprit Arena in Germany. With two belts on the line both men are going to be going for the big win.
IBF, WBO and IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko is focused and determined to keep his belts in the Klitschko family. He said this week:
“After nine months off, I am eager to get back in the ring. I am very excited to fight in another soccer stadium, this one will hold more than 50,000 people. The atmosphere in the stadium will be fantastic.
I am 33 years old and at the top of my athletic ability, I have never been so strong, fast, and experienced. Eddie is a very talented fighter and has a very difficult style, but I am well prepared to defend my titles. All four of my belts will stay in the Klitschko family.”
Then on 24th April Primetime will broadcast on both Sky and Virgin On Demand our very own WBC undefeated World champion Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch as he takes on Mikkel Kessler. Speaking with Primetime Froch said:
“I’m really pleased that the fight will now be shown on Primetime on Virgin. Not only does it increase the number of viewers who can now watch the fight but also Nottingham is mainly a Virgin broadband area so my home crowd can still catch all the action live from Herning. "It makes for a humdinger. Kessler is going to be knocked out for the first time in his career, unless he's a lot tougher than I already think he is."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Klitschko V Chambers is shown on Primetime (Sky 480 and Virgin On Demand) on Saturday 20th March from 8pm. Virgin customers can buy through On Demand > Live Events. See channel 0 for more details.
Sky customers need to call 0871 200 4444 to register. If you’ve registered with Primetime before you can just press select on your remote control.

Talking to the woman on the phone meant that you had disconnected the phoneline from your Skybox! So if she was testing the connection while you were speaking to her, she would always reach that conclusion!

one way i think primetime could win us over a bit would be to offer small hall shows from across the uk for around £2.50 , even if there not fights that catch our imagination im sure for £2.50 wed buy loads of them , plus it would give a little extra income to shows being promoted by say , jane couch or carl greaves etc etc , id even pay for white collar shows if they showed them for just 2 or 3 quid .
