Yeah and you'd need that for medical care for the rest of your life... that's if you came out of the coma!
Nah you'd just get knocked out by the first light hearted punch he threw and wake up dazed and rich.
I reckon I could win a few rounds against the current Tyson before being brutally KO'd

This sort of idiotic comment really annoys me.

Do you know what would happen if you, as a non-boxer, went in a ring with any decent fighter above middleweight wearing 10oz gloves? Any punch to the head would likely break your neck - have you ever been hit flush by someone who knows what they are doing?

Any punch to the body would probably break your ribs.

Its just a stupid thing to say. It really winds me up.

I'm a lot younger and smaller than Tyson, I reckon my speed would carry me a couple of rounds before he finally caught up with me.

I would back Kevo to go 3 rounds with Tyson easy. Just stick and move Kevo stick and move and if you get caught......just try to hit the one in the middle. Over 6 I think Tyson would just squeak home via KO probably. :box:

I would. I'd keep my guard up and tight and go down on the first contact (would I get the million if I went down after we touched gloves? ) Then go and cash my million!
Worked for Bruce Seldon :TU:

Why would it KILL someone who wasn't a pro boxer, or cause them sever injuries? Boxers are fitter, more skilled, of course, but they're no less mortal. Sure, the average person would more likely get KO'd, sure, because they wouldn't know about stance, positioning, head movement, or have the same neck muscles, but they're not more likely to get actually killed!

Are you seriously saying that with no boxing experience i could get in with lewis/tyson, get knocked out and get up unharmed or that i would be in no more danger of suffering severe injury than a pro boxer, come on get real a man who lives in my town was knocked out with one punch a year ago and was in a coma for months and now neads help for the rest of his life, the person who hit him was a big fella but by no means a boxer

Was this guy in a fight or was he sucker punched and smashed his head on a concrete pavement? That makes all the difference.
It's an interesting question but i would think that boxers are less likely to be KO'd due to neck strength, punch anticipation, etc but i'd say if you were just as fit as a journeyman and you were both KO'd by a punch then i don't see why the journeyman would necessarily recovered better/quicker than a non-boxing sportsman.
Remember James Cracknell getting splattered in that bout against an ex amateur? He recovered quickly enough would a boxer dropped exactly as heavily recover any differently?

A non-boxer is DEFINITELY more likely to get killed for all sorts of plainly obvious reasons. They are no less mortal generally, of course, but they are less likely to get in a completely unprotected position and far more likely to be stronger and fitter.

  'This sort of idiotic comment' really annoys me! Obviously made by some one who has led a sheltered life, has never suffered any real physical trauma and/or is so inbred that they are less than an average specimen.

You obviously have no idea nor appreciation of the increasable resilience of the human body. We, as a species, have a gestation period of 9 months and have, as an average, one and a bit offspring at a time yet there are close to 7 billion of us. Hardly the sort of figures that favour delicate flowers don't you think, think about it.
