I think Mitchell has the potential to outstrip Khan in terms of popularity, if not in terms of general recognition, if he beats Katsidis in a good fight. By that I mean Khan will probably always be the bigger name, but Mitchell could be more well liked and more of a draw.

Barrera sold out the MEN, not Khan. I went with 3 people who would never have gone to a Khan fight but wanted to see Barrera live, and I bet they weren't the only ones.
The Salita fight was in a much smaller arena, and Newcastle has hardly had loads of boxing there in recent times.

Depends if you count the Sunday People as a reliable enough source

Pretty much confirms it.

No. But everything seems to be pointing in this direction, for sure.

They were a few tickets left for the Barrera bight, but not many, and the top tier was definately in use.The Salita fight was in Newcastle, and again, more or less a sell out.The likes of Hatton-Tszyu,there wasnt a single ticket to be had.

Barrera was pretty packed. Salita was in Newcastle. Kotelnik was the badly attended one, but that was delayed, switched and during the school holidays, so a bit of a nightmare.
And while people always say "Barrera sold out not Khan" that is nonsense. People came to see both. If Barrera would have been fighting some nobody, no one would have turned up. It was a fight that excited people, so they turned out.

His dance parter was completely unknown against a bigger name he'll draw big, even if people dont like him they'll either want to see him win or lose. Against a nobody its going through the motions
