No disrepect. But I find Paul Smith's power overrated.

What makes people think, he is going to KO Brian Magge, when he cound't KO Tony Dodson, Ciaran Healy(Who has been stopped 7 Times) and Michal Bilak (Who Has Been Stopped 5 Times)?

He may be heavy handed, but he ain't a born puncher and his record and his fights prove it. Out of 37 fights, Magee has been stopped just once by Carl Froch, who punchers way harder than Smith.

healy and bilak were warm up fights which smith has said numerus times he struggled to get up for and dodson was a scrappy fight were dodson didnt want to engage, id be surprised if smith landed a power shot cleanly

people like bellew & billy graham have come out saying paul has genuine power so its hard to argue with them

Mayweather is different to the person who raised him, you talking about the biggest prize in the game there, You fight Mayweather you demand $$$$ But he commands more cos he's generating them. Magee is bringing one title and Paul is bringing another. If anything Paul is the bigger sell here and possibly has the biggr profile due tothe likes of Contender?? Either way I feel 50/50 is fair on both parties..
Its not though, mate. The European title is potentially a much bigger earner than the British, and Fwank would soon let that be known if the roles were reversed.Wether Paul is a bigger draw or not is irrelevant,i bet they dont offer what Magee got to challenge for the title and i doubt he was the draw in that fight. If your prepared to travel, which Magee obviously is,the European can be a real earner

if both boxers are happy to go 50-50 then go for it.Paul wins this one for me by a late stoppage.

seems like magee is holding out for better offers.i cant understand it personally as he is risking inactivity on his part.
smith can be kept busy no problem & must feel magee see's him as a threat, unlike the boxing public(majority)

This fight wil be made no problem there is too much to gain for both parties for this fight not too happen. Both could be looking at a world title shot couldnt this be made a WBO eliminator?

lol, at the warm up fight being a excuse. Born punchers, whether they are up for a fight or not, still KO low level journyman....Etc Ruben Olivares, Earnie Shavers, Joe Louis,

Although Smith vs Dodson was a horrible and ugly fight, Smith still landed a few that didn't even budge Dodson.

And I don't care how hard he punchers on the pads or in the gym, or what people say. I judge punching power when I actually see him in the ring. And he ain't a born puncher and he is a decent level puncher at best imo.

Seriouly overrated punching power.........

If this fight dosen't come off, hopefully Smith will finally accept George Groves's challage.

George is still begging for a fight with Smith and really does belive he can KO him. Get this fight on......

But I can't see Warren taken the risk.

I still believe this should be a 50/50 split and both titles be on the line, It really does matter who who is the draw cos at the end ofthe day that's what makes money in boxing and Paul is without doubt a draw especially in Liverpool.. Regardless of what people think six to eight thousend scousers turned up at the echo arena to watch him twice!! That is a big draw if you ask me.. I agree Magee is ringing something to the table and I rate the guy's fighting ability BUT you gota give Paul some credit too, He has overcome constant knocks over not being a SMW then not being a puncher and then not being fit enoughto do 12!! He's proved all the above, I think he'll come out on top against Magee I really do then there will be no question as to who is the best SMW in Britian bar Froch.... :TU:

Tony, hold which belt would help develop your career the most and have more pulled in the various world rankings - the British or European title?

Should Smigga get the same money to go and fight in Belfast than he should get if the fight was in Liverpool?

& your saying the people of belfast wont come out in there droves for there man magee :!: :shame:

people that went to the echo arena went the too see the entire show.quigley scored an emphatic win over dodson in one of the fights of the year which helped sell the smith fight to the scouse public.

it's a step back in class for magee if truth be told,& if there aint know ebu on the line why does smith want him???

There was 2400 people at the Quigley Vs Dodson fight! There was over 6,000 at Smith Vs Quigley. If it was the performance of Quigley V Dodson that attracted so many then why did it again pack out with over 6,00 when Smith fought Dodson....even though everyone says Smith Vs Quigley was a boring fight??? The only common factor in the two packed arena's was Paul Smith. He is a draw in our city weather people like it or not and over 6,000 for a BRITISH title fight is a great turn out. Not taking nothing away from Magee, he is popular in Belfast yes so either way - wherever the fight were to take place then it would be a good turn out, well supported from both sides. The main thing here is IF the fight takes place

So what your saying is Magee should fight Smith in Liverpool, put his more highly regarded/important title on the line and still give Smith parity on the purse split. Sorry, but that just doesn't add up.

Forget about what title purse bids have been ordered for, if Magee is putting up his European title he deserves the bigger purse split. If Smith was clearly a bigger draw and everyone knew that then obviously things would be different, but that's not the case. Magee/Smith will get a similar turnout if it takes place in Belfast.

No I am not saying Magee should have to fight Paul in Liverpool but what I am saying is that you've got 2 fighters here with both something to gain and something to lose so with that being the case I feel a 50/50 split is very fair.. You have to take into account account that before the Larsen fight Magee was out in the cold with no date,no promoter and no title.. He wins and all credit to him for doing it.. This fight has to happen and I cannot see a reason for the life of me why it can't, Im sure we'll all know the exact date and venue this time next week... :TU:

Come on Bomber - a 50/50 aint fair mate - no one outside of Liverpool thinks its fair and I doubt you really do either.

"You have to take into account account that before the Larsen fight Magee was out in the cold with no date,no promoter and no title" - thats an interesting statement - what baring does this have on it at all. He wasn't out in the cold at all, he was injured, maybe you should bare in mind that Magee graciously and voluntarily relinquished his title so that Quigley and Dodson could fight for it - so in essence Smith owes the ownership of his title to Magee!

Magee has more options at his disposal than Smith does and I wouldn't be surprised if "tough negotiating stance" (I wont use the word greed, its all business afterall) of Team Smith drive Magee down another route.

I owe Magee f*ck all!

The British title is mine, taken from a champion - Which Magee has never done. If you want to get technical then Magee "owes" Carl Froch for vacating after knocking Magee out.

Don't give me that graciously stepped aside bollocks, you know your boxing.... Magee "graciously" SOLD his Lonsdale belt. :TU:

I attended all 3 and the Dodson/Quigley fight was the least attended.

Smith/Quigley was highly successful and it was near a full house for that one. The attendance dwindled severely for Smith/Dodson but there were still around 4000 in attendance.

Smith/Quigley was a wonderful atmosphere
