Well Eastman better spend some of that money on a good lawyer, as Howard is now sitting in jail in Guyana.
He is accused of having a black plastic bag that contained leaves, seeds and stems of the prohibited plant cannabis sativa, when police went to his house.

Eastman would have had some decent earnings - but he has never been a world champion. Probably one of the highest earners not to win a world title. Audley is another.

Audley could most definitely be up there he was gettin paid 100k + for his early fights and then ran away to America with his millions and i think he has invested fairly well

That's the one that instantly stood out for me aswell. If the figures are correct, Ruiz is a relatively wealthy man.

Henry Wharton was a mandatory challenger for Benn's wbc title so it went to purse bids and he got a 30%(?) cut.It was a huge bid,a record at the time for SMW in order to keep the fight "down south".I think he got around £350,000,a big lump in 1994 for a challenger. He also earned well,at title level, from his 11th fight

Some journeymen are fighting every week, saving shows up and down the country, some of them must be on a good wedge in a year.
Well he had 300 fights and i think the average purse for those fighters is about £500 so thats £150 000, not a bad earner. I could be wrong but I think i saw an interview with him where he said he liked a bet though, so he might not have paid his mortgage off, especially if he had my luck
Peter Buckley paid his mortage off a while back.
Good I'm glad to here it, he was excellent at what he did :TU:

The Poonsawat purse bid was really low due to an error by somebody.Im sure Dunne got about £30,000,leading to some to suggest,on here,he would be looked after "under the table"
Due to the Thai's idea of involving themselves with Pat Magee(who was not recognised to bid by the WBA) they couldn't end up putting in a bid and Brian Peters won the purse bids with the minimum amount required($120,000), 60% of which was Dunne's so his purse for the fight was $72,000 or whatever that translated to in Euro at the time. While it was widely suggested Brian Peters would give him a sweetener with that provided the event sold well, I've never seen any proof it happened(not saying it didn't either).

Dunne earned something like €75,000 for the Cordoba fight, and Martinez earned €100,000 for his fight with Dunne but I've no idea what Bernard got. Froch should have earned more in his career than Dunne anyway.

It wasn't Enzo that made 7 figures against Haye, it was Haye that made 7 figures against Enzo, but I still think he got a decent purse out of it. Can't exactly remember what that was now though.

Enzo had about 200k, and Haye had close to a million, where I think Haye only had 50k for fighting Mormack

Looking at the figure in this article, Eastman has been raking it in with his excursions in Guyana!! He must be very well off unless he pissed all his money up the wall.

I doubt that $1.8 million is American dollars Guyanaese Dollars $1 US = $250 Guyanese so maybe its actually a sign that he isnt as Rich as we might think

I guess the 1.8 million dollars is guyanese dollars which equates to about 50k sterling, minus expenses etc

There is no way Ruiz got $11m for the RJJ fight. Ruiz got a 40% split to Jones' 60% of the PPV and the fight grossed $26 million. BUT - not all the $26m goes to the fighters and whoever made this calculation overlooked that. I'd estimate Ruiz got $2.5-$5m.

I'm sure it's a fair amount of cash if you're living in Guyana. Combined with his UK and US paydays he'd have to be wealthy.

I get the feeling he boxes because he wants to, rather than he has to. It's not he achieved what he wanted to, thank you very much William Joppy judges!
