Boxing version of football manager

I have that game and its awful but you may enjoy it though :)

There was a great boxing game / simulation available for the PC around 2000 or 20001, cant remember precisely but it knocked ten shades purple out of Ultimate Boxing Manager and Title Bout Boxing manager. It was called World Championship Boxing Manager (no not the old C64 / Amiga one) - http://download.chip.eu/en/World-Champi ... 62535.html

Thing is its a demo that only runs for 5 logins or 5 days whichever comes sooner. You need to buy a key and then your set. Thing is the company went bust and I have fruitlessly been trying to a key for years and years. I like it, as it was a very very deep game, just cant get a key for it :(

Maybe someone might have better luck? If so, please please let me know

If you are a programmer then I could put you in touch with the guy who owns Title Bout. Save you a lot of work as you would have an engine to work with right there.

Have a budget and obviously the number 1 boxer costs more than the number 100, and then your money goes up and down based on the success of your stable, and of course you can buy and sell boxers through the year, too.

we know on here theres interest , just gotta persuade the people that matter , its obviously not going to compete with football manager , sales wise , but unlike football manager we only need one version , guy like us would gladly edit the data each year or whatever to keep the game up to date , it wouldnt cost as much to make , as theres no need for all the licensing stuff that goes on in football , and if they really needed to they could create the game with no fighters in the data and we add them ourselves or fictitous fighters , i would happilly spend a week editing it , pretty much add every fighter on the boxrec database lol . i edit for a few days before i play football manager and spent around 10 days editing title bout before i played it.
Just give us the game and us boxrecers can sort the fighters out , no need for any fees to be laid out that way .
id be happy enough if the made it download only to save on packaging / production costs too , just the game itself is whats needed.

I'd love to see the idea followed through but there will be interest on a boxing forum. Like another poster mentioned, I also considered developing such a game but was scared off by the work involved.

When I look at how many posters have read this thread, and then consider how many have actually contributed (on what is a dedicated boxing forum), unfortunately I can see why revenue driven publishers haven't felt motivated to pursue the costly development of a football manager equivalent for boxing a real shame....

yeah i said cant really judge it on a boxing site , of course every one on here will want to see it , theres games out there with the main frame , they just need fleshing out , title bout mixed with wcbm would do for now and then if it did manage to sell well ,more work could then be invested into it , ive just gone back to playing wcbm , just because of this topic , but i had to creat around 500 boxers first before i could play it , as i wanted an upto date database .

Unlike Football Manager, that thrives on real-life data, I'd gladly welcome fictitious data/boxers for a Boxing Manager game. I don't really want to take over the career of a known boxer in his 20s, I'd rather start from day one with a youngster and work through the whole career. Anyway, all I'm saying is I wouldn't care if there weren't any licenses for real boxers. Only problem I can foresee with that is that having names involved would no doubt help to sell the game. One compromise might be to just get one famous person to endorse it, like; "Manny Pacquaio's Boxing Manager", for example.

I don't think it'd be anywhere near as appealing though, sadly.
