nicky smedley vs curtis woodhouse will be good for sheffield!! united vs wednesday be a very good seller.
thanks and I understand where ur comin from and like I said curtis woodhouse is just in the firing line but he did say to dennis he wants to fight nicki now he's back and it would be good for sheffield boxing although curtis is not from ere but his blades connections are enough, I can honestly say nicki did say he won't fight me but he did take curtiss insults personal, and wants the fight, curtis might be a nice kid infact liam said he's a nice kid , and his windin up me makes me laugh but dave coldwell has already been head butted and strangled by boxers and still hasn't learnt his lesson,no boxer has done anythin to me as I av not given them a reason too, money is no issue to me I just enjoy the journeystwenty six wrote:Chris,
Thanks for the candid reply.
Obviously there are issues that are burning at you from the past, and those issues are personal to you and the other party.
I fully respect that.
I guess what I was trying to say, and probably not putting it well, is that where Nicky is concerned those issues are best filed for future reference if you get me.
I sincerely hope Nicky gets the breaks, re discovers his old ways, skills and abilities and comes back stronger and wiser.
I hope Denis can make some moves Promotionally for him, even if it means doing a bit of sub contracting with another Promotor.
Sheffield is a city with a rich tradition in boxing.
I just sense the city is on its way back with some good kids coming through and a few of the old gits still showing how it's done.
Nicky can and should be a part of that, but I can only say what I feel and calling Curtis out in this way just because of who he is trained by - well it's not the right approach for me.
Good luck to you all.
Nah, Nah, Nah he's a Blade and he's a Blade. I remember watching Curtis's debut when he came on and was asked to play left wing back for Nigel Spackman. I also remember Woodhouse being subbed midway through the second half at Huddersfield by Steve Bruce and Bruce received a chorus of boos from all the United fans in the away end because Curtis had played so well and was still a teenager. I also recall us playing Peter Reid's Sunderland at home and getting trounced 4-0, they played us off the park, yet Woodhouse was the best player on the pitch.curtis wood wrote:stop trying to start a fight cannonball or ill be coming up to middle weight for you!!
Thanks for the reply, Curtis, and for your honesty. You were a fantastic player and I loved watching you because you grafted for the cause. As you got older you were often accused of ill-discipline (rightly or wrongly) but, as you say, boxing has lit that fire again. You've always been a terrific competitor. In hindsight, I feel bad for not taking you seriously. Why would a professional footballer earning thousands walk away to be a boxer earning (initially) only few hundred quid every other month.curtis wood wrote:cheers ben thats nice of u and i agree with you i DID waste my talent no doubt too much too young simple as that and when i wanted to get back to what i was the fire had gone out and the passion for the game died thats why i slipped down the leagues but boxing has lit the fire in the belly and im loving it!!! you fill up my senses!!! where all blades arnt we?

He looked o.k to me sparring KhanJeff Thomas wrote:One thing Chris, Goddings not at all bad you know. England amateur, far better dig then his record suggests and all that. He's pretty decent. Danny Thorpe boxed him and told me after he was very heavy handed. I've seen him live a few times and he does look good. Very tidy. I'd say its a very good test for you Curtis.
well at least they know we are there and willing but we won't lose sleep over it bigger fish to fry really, but if goddings a good test so be it. Oh well done to dalton smith from out gym golden gloves champion and tri nation champion atr 13y old and also P gudge for reachin. Glad the tone of this thread has lightened up. I saw Godding stopped by Mathew Hall in the amateurs. Like I said hee does look heavy handed- I'd be interested to see how he deals with pressure. If you give him time to box he can pick his shots really lovely- but the one time I saw him under pressure against Darren Askew he looked very flustered and notably untidy. He also went over but it was more balance then anything. The scoring was harsh in that fight it was much closer then 59-56- also he got an absolute gift against Al Hamidi on the Rhodes-Moore undercard. I thought he lost three of the four rounds. Still he's a good fighter but intelligent pressure seems the answer.curtis wood wrote:goddings is a very good ive seen him live twice and was very impressed thats why i wanted the fight high risk equals high reward will be a cracking fight thats for certain a win over somebody of ricks talent could and should open a few doors for me thorpey told me the same about rick said he hits hard so hands up chin down!!
we had joe elfide box askew on his debut and had him downJeff Thomas wrote:Glad the tone of this thread has lightened up. I saw Godding stopped by Mathew Hall in the amateurs.
