I thought you and Smigga's mates would come out biting and scratching concerning this.
Do you think asking for a "5 fight options contract" is reasonable?
Do you think it is reasonable for 3 July and 17 July to be rejected by Team Smith??
Do you think it is reasonable that a 50/50 split on the purse was proposed by Team Smith on this very forum when Magee is the European Champion - and yet Smiths ranking in the WBO has slipped yet the more reputable WBA organisation have chosen to raise Magees ranking - yet Smith still thinks its reasonable for a 50/50 split.

If I were really honest here - dont blame Team Magee - dont blame Team Smith.
Yet again Boxing Politics has got in the way of a very good fight.

and i was waiting for you to start stiring it
frank has virtually guarenteed the winner a world title shot so signing options wouldnt have been that bad, the money should be split 50/50 if both belts on the line, looks like magee is looking to make some easy defences and get 1 more big pay day, fair play to him hes had a tought career but smith will fight for a world title with or without beating magee

you said yourself smith would take the fight in a minute, frank is obviusly lookin out for his best intrests regarding the options like most promoters would, i think the main sticking point was location team magee wanted belfast and frank said sky would choose

Yep I actually believe if it were up to Paul Smith - the fight with Brian Magee would be taking place.
Trust me on this - the main sticking point was not BELFAST - it was the "options" thing - and by asking for 5 fights is surely not showing too much confidence in Smith. Yes, yes I know the options thing is always discussed when discussing anticipate fights like Smith/Magee - however - its not normally the main sticking point and if its a show stopper the promoter asking for "options" normally will concede if it means a big fight like this taking place. Team Magee were willing to negoitiate about the venue - but were simply not willing to enter into an agreement on options.

world title shot or not i think a five fight option is taking the p iss if im honest .if it was 1/2 then fair enough but i think the said promoter is taking a bit of a liberty.

Diggler ,
Why Andersson above Tony Quigley ????.
I think Tony is due it more than Kenny and not just because he lost his Title to Paul in what many thought was a dodgy decision .
Personally I think the board will make Kenny and Tony 'fight for the right' as they say.

Because people would like to be entertained and nobody wants to see a repeat of that fight, no matter how close it may have been?

more than likely its because tony pulled out of a eliminator to go in prizefighter, i agree with you tony would be a lot tougher fight than anderson , but a rematch would not genarate as much hype than the 1st and imo smith would beat him more comfortably than the he did in the 1st

i agree the quigley decision was out of order on the reihning champ as he took it too smith who left it a little to late imo, but it was close & it is history. & smith stated after fw had made the ring announcement of a rematch he had no intentions of returning tony the favour of a defence & opting for dodson instead??
but in anderson's defence he's taken all eliminators against the self proclaimed avoided man david who's seem's to have toned down since sparring groves.

I said at the time that this announcement was pointless and ridiculous. The lad out of Grange Hill shouting with great gusto "And F*ank W*rren has said, there WILL be a rematch!"
Erm, let the Board decide whether that will come about in the first instance.

the fight had so much tension & negativity that it never unfolded or never really caught light.i think in a rematch it would be a cracking contest & it should decide who really is the better man.

Returning WHAT favour?!
Quigley fought me because he had to, I was his mandatory and he had no other way of avoiding it after pulling out once and ALMOST pulling out for the second and last time.
The announcement was to stop the already out of hand crowd trouble.

just an opinion.
it's visable that the promoter done it to ease the tension. i wasnt aware that there was any trouble, as people i know who attended said there was no problems & you had the bigger support.obviously they never saw it.
as stated the fight is history, you've chased a higher calibre fighter in magee & quigley has done nothing. but as a fan i was dissapointed with the contest & thought it was a case of unfinished buisness & wanted too see you go again.
& in all honesty what made you viable for the shot at s.middle??
in your last contest you showed great composure to deal with some real savage cut's & proved your determination is unquestionable.
your next fight win's you the belt outright & it's another big occasion will you be over your dissapointment??

Steve you know the answer to that, Kenny was supposed fight Dodson only for Dodson to pull out .like Steven McGuire did before and Paul David ,twice as well.
Kenny has be more than patient in waiting for this fight .

your right alba 100% people keep banging on about the prospects who have been pro a shorter ammount of time then anderson, mguire & davids but smith leapt these fighters & they are due a fight.
im a fan of quigley but he's stayed unactive & proposed to box at middle, which aint good pr for someone expecting a return.
degale wont be matched with smith or groves & would have to get in a rift with his promoter in order to do so.
id like too see groves & degale to pair off & the winner face the british champion, but promoters hold out & devalue the title imo. i dont know how happy degale will be in being taken down the inter route as he seems very ambitious & confident.

it's only his 2nd defence next, that does not win him the belt outright
