I liked Stuart Hall - especially on 'It's a knockout' with Eddie Wareing but he is no match for Gazza - besides - Stuart Hall must be at least 80 years old!

'Based in Catterick'? That explains a lot. Lots of teenage and early twenties aled up squaddies roll into nearby Darlington for a night out, have far too much ale, act like cocks and then get thrown out.

I wasn't overly bothered about this, despite coming from Hall's home town, but now I hope he smashes the lad to bits.

Hall isn't great but he hasn't been beaten yet, never mind stopped. He gassed a bit in his last one against Power mind, but got his second wind.

The log does say that Davies can punch though, I suppose. Should be a good contest.

I saw his fight against Napa live, he didn't really have a gameplan other than trying to land big punches and as a consequence, got outboxed. He's had just 1 round since then in 12 months, it's not exactly the best prep.

Good point. Also shows how things have changed, title wise. Yet again we have two relative novices boxing for the Lonsdale. Hall has done amazingly well to get where he is. Don't even think he had much of an amateur log either.

By the way, I was told Groves Anderson is on first at 8.15 ish. I'm sure this is right. I assumed Hall v Davies would be on afterwards, then the main event.

Looks like I was wrong. Hall says he boxes much earlier in the night and they'll show it recorded.

So, if you want to watch it 'as live' - avoid the forums and spoiler texts

Ian, if Davies is not too reckless and doesnt walk onto a big shot early on, I think the fight is his for the taking in the mid rounds. Hall looks tight at the weight - he dropped the pace in his fight with Napa too and before that bizarre ending I thought Napa was going to beat him. I cant see Hall walking through Davies punches, if he employs those tactics I can see a very early night for Hall. The one thing that impresses me more than any other about Davies is his desire - I have never heard a boxer talk with as much with pent up determination, he is chomping at the bit - but he needs to control that.

I just saw your piece with Hall - I cant believe this fight isnt live - this is what annoys me more than anything else about Sky's PPV coverage - they dont show more of the undercard live!

Ian- Hall is there to be hit, for the most part, and Davies can hit. should result in a decent tussle as you say.

The fight should be shown, definitely, but I'm not really bothered if they show it live or not. I'd rather they show things on tape delay on a live broadcast than endless padding and filler and inane chat about the upcoming fights, which to me is totally pointless as it's a PPV and there's no need to fluff it as the people have already bought it and no-one's able to watch without paying £15.

Yeah, fair points, Hall is a bit porous too.

Apparently Davies had to come back for a second try to make the weight, though he did it comfortably after an hour.

Well the waits almost over,should be the fight of the night,cant believe its not live,looks like a phone ban in order

Both lads come across as being really decent; they don't make a lot of noise or big themselves up. I've not seen Hall really troubled, he seems fit and composed. I think it'll go the distance with Hall on points after taking a few big licks; Gary can punch his weight.

just seen the result hall won by 7th round stoppage! cant beleve this i no gary struggles to make the weight and it seems this is the case and he had nothin in the tank , davies will be a better force at super bantam and be involved in some good scraps!
