That was a silly question, this a boxing forum not an English Defence League forum. The question that was asked was should he be allowed to box? If he does as you wish and "Goes back to where he came from" then thats not going to stop him boxing is it!

Fine. let him fight in Zimbabwe, and commit his crimes in Zimbabwe.

If convicted, then he should be stripped of his licence for a specified time agreed by the board (a couple of years or so).

Having a licence to box should be a privilege not a right and if you use your skills to assault someone, then you should have your licence stripped. Yes, we all make mistakes and therefore with no further convictions, he could come back after he has served a ban.

The sport of boxing needs to dissociate itself from any links to crime etc. if we are ever going to stand a legitimate chance of convincing the BBC etc. that it is a sport worthy of licence fee payers money.

I hit a woman square in the jaw and she died when her head smashed into the concrete. She was lunging towards me with a 12" carving knife screaming "I am going to stab you in the f*cking heart". She had just thrust the knife into two other people including a 97-year-old war veteran called George who won a VC at Arnhem and then devoted the rest of his life to caring for victims of child cruelty whilst teaching blind dogs braille in his spare time. Was I wrong?
You're only wrong because you don't take the subject seriously. Real men don't beat thier girlfriend up.

What does that mean though?

Did he give her a slap or did he punch her head in et cetera?

If they want to send out a message they'd have to treat all similar offences equally.Floyd Mayweather Jnr had previous accusations against him for beating a women before the current charge he's under.

This was hardly Chisora's first crime. He has a long violent criminal record.

"“I did about 10 crimes but I never got locked up for any of them,” Chisora, who wants to become the biggest thing to come out of Finchley since Margaret Thatcher, said. “They never caught me at the crime scene. The law in this country means that they have to catch you at the crime scene to prove anything. They have to catch you red-handed. Every time I got arrested they would say, ‘You’re under arrest for this and that,’ and I would say, ‘Cool, let’s go.’ ”

The questions a legitimate one, its just stupid people in the thread that ruin it.

Should convicted criminals face having their boxing licence stripped automatically? I would say yes, especially for violent crimes.

Totally agree.

We are fight fans and wanna see fights. It shouldnt matter a toss what a fighter has done. If he's not in prison then he should be able to fight.

Its hardly surprising that a number of fighters get involved in violence outside of the ring. Regardless of the rhetoric, at the end of the day Boxing is a brutal sport that requires a particular mindset from its participants.

Dont expect boxers to be angels because its not what they are trained to do.

To be honest, It doesnt mate.

I dont know any of the circumstances behind the offence and im not interested in judging him as anything other than a boxer.

Domestic violence offences are particularly unsavoury, that I know. But put simply, Chisora is a boxer and i want to see him fight. He will have to deal with the sentence he is going to be given by the Court and when he has completed that he should, and quite rightly too, be allowed to get on with his life.

You're perfectly entitled to judge him as a person in light of the offences he's committed. I choose not to and dont think that it should prevent him from earning a living as a boxer, so long as he is able to. Of course if he worked in a refuge for victims of domestic violence then I would find it wholly inappopriate for him to be employed in that line of work.

X2X is an utter mug...no argument there.

but your silly comment about the EDL shows how uninformed you are. the EDL are a protest group about Islamism...nothing to do with race or ethnicity at all, indeed they have many black members and the leader of the youth wing is actually a mixed race kid.

as for chisora - he didnt 'beat his missus' up. if he had he'd have been done for more than assault....you can get an assault conviction without putting your hand on someone. he restrained her, put her over his knee and spanked her....odd behaviour i dont condone but clearly not a 'beating'.

Trust me Dek I'm not uninformed about the EDL. I know exactly what they were about before they got hijacked by football hooligans. Your comment about the "Youth wing" just reiterates that they have been hijacked by football hooligans. Anyway like I said this isn't an EDL forum lets get back to boxing :box:
