Re. Selby and Yafai...

I know what you're saying but playing devil's advocate here, Yafai has beaten Selby twice before, all be it a while ago. The rules were laid out before the World's so it's not exactly a surprise for either. Plus, if Selby is good enough he'll beat Yafai anyway - if he's not he won't. It's still 9 months until the Olympics so they all need to stay active, it's a great test for both of them and they're both genuine medal prospects.

Couple of the kids are young so you never know. Definitely agree that we'll have some great talent turning over. Boxing is always exciting when the Olympics come around.

It's on the Friday and Saturday at the York Hall - apparently tickets on the Friday start at just £1 each - and there is no bad view in the venue. For that you also get to see the first of the Selby v Yafai box off bouts as well as the GB Championship bouts!

Tickets for Saturday's finals are priced at: £5, £15, £20 and £25 (ringside). Doors open at 11.30am and boxing will begin at 12.30pm. Tickets for the semi-finals on Friday are priced at: £1, £3, £5 and £10 (ringside). Doors open at 1.30pm. There is only limited availability for what is expected to be a busy event and tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis.


The finals of the GB Amateur Boxing Championships will be shown live on BBC1 on Saturday 12 November 2011 at 2:30pm.

Think you're right. Selby has a good style for tournaments, but Yafai might just be stronger of the pair.
