Its a pity the big names have pulled out like Evans, Ward and Stalker .
As i put on another thread,if it wasnt the fact of Yafai being one off the so called faces of 2012&the GB selectors not expecting Selby to have the year he has had, they wouldnt have brought this rule in after the Euros,i hope justice is done&Selby kicks his ass...ed robinson wrote:Re. I know what you're saying but playing devil's advocate here, Yafai has beaten Selby twice before, all be it a while ago. The rules were laid out before the World's so it's not exactly a surprise for either. Plus, if Selby is good enough he'll beat Yafai anyway - if he's not he won't. It's still 9 months until the Olympics so they all need to stay active, it's a great test for both of them and they're both genuine medal prospects.
I agree with you thereCardiff-Lad1 wrote:I agree and i also think not only should Selby not have to go through a Box Off but he also should have won Amateur Boxer of the year!Tommy Gunn13 wrote:As i put on another thread,if it wasnt the fact of Yafai being one off the so called faces of 2012&the GB selectors not expecting Selby to have the year he has had, they wouldnt have brought this rule in after the Euros,i hope justice is done&Selby kicks his ass...ed robinson wrote:Re. I think that pretty obvious that they will..Theres going to be a few good lads turning over in the next 6months or so...jBacca wrote:Think either would turn in the vest if they don't get to go the Olympics?
Couple of the kids are young so you never know. Definitely agree that we'll have some great talent turning over. Boxing is always exciting when the Olympics come around.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I think that pretty obvious that they will..Theres going to be a few good lads turning over in the next 6months or so...jBacca wrote:Think either would turn in the vest if they don't get to go the Olympics?
Think you've got the kid in the GB team, then one from each nation.cutthecacklebullyup wrote:does the home nation not get two entries in each weight cat ? i think that happens in commonwealth :??
Id be VERY surprised if the loser of Selby-Yafai stay Amatuer for another 4 years...jBacca wrote:Couple of the kids are young so you never know. I think you're right mate, just talking about the kids in general (after specifically talking about Yaf and SelbyTommy Gunn13 wrote:Id be VERY surprised if the loser of Selby-Yafai stay Amatuer for another 4 years...jBacca wrote:Couple of the kids are young so you never know. ed robinson wrote:It's on the Friday and Saturday at the York Hall - apparently tickets on the Friday start at just £1 each - and there is no bad view in the venue. For that you also get to see the first of the Selby v Yafai box off bouts as well as the GB Championship bouts!

good point that - if one got a cut etc when would the next bout take place?Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:WAR SELBY![]()

Just out of interest - If there is a stoppage today, surely they wouldn't be able to have the 2nd box off tomorrow??![]()
Very unlikely to happen but just thinking.....
I believe the NI boxers are with the all Ireland squad for the Olympics.jBacca wrote:Think you've got the kid in the GB team, then one from each nation.cutthecacklebullyup wrote:does the home nation not get two entries in each weight cat ? i think that happens in commonwealth :??
