What an odd, ugly fight.

Untill the KO I was about to write - "well, McIntosh has just lost many opportunities domestically with this performance".... I was actually think of what happened to Johnny Nelson after his first two world title tilts. It was a tad "Matthew Barney" - not that negative, but with that showboating and that stuff he did on the ropes.

Pulled it out of the bag though. Feel a tad sorry for the French guy though who whilst very limited at least showed a proffesional attitude throughout. McIntosh looked like he could give a monkeys - laughing at the crowd when he got booed.

Happy that he won the fight, sounds like he fought rubbish. Hey whatever happens, Danny Mac can now say he's been champion of europe which not many can say, I can't see him holding the belt long unless they carefully pick opponents.

Oh aye, that was a bad one also - I think this was worst. Macklin's fight on the Mag 7 bill was a stinker also.

yeah maybe not style wise but he always gives good value in his interviews and dicking around in the ring when he should be boxing, can't help but raise a smile at him.

It was entertaining, but not in a boxing sense.

Anyone else think of Alex Arthur vs Gomez when he was messing around...... how many times did I just showed FOCUS at the TV.... his concentration is awful. Wants to entertain even if it costs him - remember the Cleverly backflip also.

Thought McIntosh went out of his way to make himself look like a right prick for the first 8 rounds , seemed more worried about playing up to the crowd than boxing a slow ass opponent. But from 9 onwards concentrated on boxing and did the business.

Agree, although I thought it was the 10th in which he started to box. I think he did realise it was slipping away, although I don't think it was a plan as such (e.g. That he was leagues above Karl and could have taken him out at any time).

Well done Danny Mac, ugly fight for the most part but he did the job and I'm pleased he's bringing the title back with him.

Did Price and Napa fight on the undercard?

I'd like to see the winner of Bellew-Mckenzie II (hopefully Our Bomber) get in with Danny. Either way it'd be banrstomer of a fight

I completely disagree with some of the criticism directed at McIntosh. This was a superb away victory for Danny (and at relatively short notice) against a decent fighter who was unbeaten in 8 fights who holds a 1st round win over the guy who gave Cleverly a tough fight last time out. McIntosh showed exactly the right attitude as an away fighter boxing for a European title and took the fight to Karl. Yes, he looked crude and was reckless at times but that's just how McIntosh fights - he's a risk taker.

He did showboat, moreso after halfway, but he never stopped trying, showed an excellent chin, great conditioning and kept on swinging. When he had his man hurt, he put him away. Karl was gone and I don't think he would have survived a follow-up attack had he made it to his feet and been allowed to continue.

Considering he's still raw and had only 13 fights this was a brilliant win for McIntosh. I'm well chuffed for him.

It's easy to see why some people dislike Mactintosh with the grinning, theatrics and so on.

Personally I dont mind him and glad he won.

It's was a sort of 'odd' fight and difficult to describe unless you watch it. For the most part it was leaping-lefts whilst neglecting the jab from Mac's part for most of the fight, with the odd exchange - before ref jumped in for all sorts of bizarre reasons.

Finish was strong though and good call by his corner for saying he's ripe for a finish. They were right on the money.
