The thing is lot's of Boxers make these statements as tongue in cheek comments, and have the ability to be funny with it.

Unfortunately Khan isn't one of these.
But he has to believe he can beat him. Do you think Derek Chisora is going in to fight Wlad Klitschko thinking he'll lose?
Of course he does, but the factual point is he won't.

Thats why I would like the fight to happen.

Isn't that what this post is about?

I agree with the point you're making, regarding chisora i reckon he's probably going into that fight with alot of self doubt actually.Whilst wlad isnt the quickest heavyweight or doesnt possess the best chin he is a very thoughful boxer and just getting past his jab is a mission in itself! To be honest I wouldnt be surprised if chisora is going into that fight thinking he's going to lose but aslong as he gives it everything he's got then theres no shame in defeat.I have a feeling that might be his attitude, even if he loses which is very likely he can still rebuild and come again so he'll be getting a good pay day none the less.

How is it a "factual point" that Wlad will beat Chisora when they haven't even fought?

What happens to that "fact" if Del Boy were to close his eyes, take a swing and plant a big hook on Wlad's chin and KO him?

err... but you make no mention of his power, which tends to be the main requirement for actually stopping people. Whatever improvements Khan has displayed recently, there's been nothing to suggest to date that he's capable of stopping the likes of Bradley.
err, so i forgot to mention power, i take it speed and accuracy count for nothing ? most people on here agreed maidana would knock khan out, and now everyones saying khan survived against a puncher. its great to read posts on here, contradiction city !

You're getting very confused Jessi.
Firstly, fighters as diverse as Sven Ottke and Pernell Whitaker had speed and accuracy... I don't recall it transforming them into wrecking machines though. What has Khan shown to date for you to make such an inflated claim with regards to him suddenly blowing out fighters before the midway mark because to date you haven't come up with anything to substantiate it?
Secondly, what does him surviving against Maidana have to do with him being able to start KO'ing world-class fighters in a manner he hasn't done to date? If your logic is that most people thought Khan would be KO'ed and were wrong, and so because most of us don't believe he could KO those fighters in that manner he therefore must be able to, you 'logic' is fundamentally flawed.
Oh, and by the way, from memory, while a reasonable number thought Khan would be KO'ed, it definitely wasn't most posters. I recall that most thought Khan would win on points.

deserter you write so sweet, ok thats see how sweet you really are, let me hear your predictions for a, bradley v alexanda ? b, khan v mccloskey (if it happens) c, khan v bradley d, khan v alexanda. no reasons, just predictions ?
o and by the way i believe amir khan has stopped 17 from 24, and put 2 of the other 7 on the floor, just because he might not have devastating power it doesent mean you cant stop opponents with fast flurrys and overwhelming finishing, i would say his record speaks for itself, it sounds to me you just dont like amir khan ? or my opinions just bug you.
i dont want any clever comebacks please, just the predictions.

You're right, Khan's record does speak for itself. Every world class opponent Khan has faced made it into the later rounds. Malignaggi was stopped in 11 and never put down, while Kotelnik and Maidana both went the distance. You are seriously overrating Khan's power if you think he stops Bradley and Alexander before the halfway point. They are both better than anyone Khan has faced and I haven't seen anything to suggest they can't take a decent shot. Khan's power is decent, but nothing special, and he is not a seek and destroy type of fighter who will go out hunting for an early stoppage.

I think most fighters start of their careers with a high ratio of stoppages, this is more down to the fact that their opponents are poor and hand picked to hit the canvas. Its only when they get to the stage where Khan's at now, when thier opponents become more seasoned and decent, that we can tell if their power is as devastating as it needs to be.

Even Hamed wasn't stopping the elite toward the end, and he had unbelievable power - Soto, Barrera, Calvo etc.

It's not just about knockouts, and I agree with Wadey's point. If you're not knocking these journeymen out early in your career then there are questions asked about your ability and how far you'll go.

Khan won't knock out these fellas, they're world class and we have no reason to believe otherwise. If he does it'll be a terrific achievement.

Bradley, for starters, is as tough as old boots.

Yeah I agree with that,Andre Ward is a guy who comes to mind.Early on in his career he had alot of ko's against crappy opposition but now he's stepped up the competition he isnt really knocking people out.Andre ward is definietly not a puncher.

You were talking to Hook, but this is a public forum, and as such, anybody is allowed to comment on any post.

And I saw you refer to Judah and Murray, but there's no ambiguity in this sentence: if you want to watch khan fight someone from a diffrent weight class or fight a has been, then i understand why you think bradley is the best.

Obviously I now see you didn't intend to claim Bradley as that, but there's no other way to read that sentence, especially as you wrote it in isolation.

So why are you changing the goalposts? You're now saying Khan will win against the other three rather than stopping them all by the halfway mark... make your mind up...

I'd like to see him skip this voluntary title defence, and line up for a unification fight with Bradley... After Kahn beats Bradley and is a triple world champion, he should defend against Alexander. Then move up in weight. :TU:

God you like an argument, if i was to bet it would only be on who i think would win, i normally bet on 4 fights at the same sort of time in an accumilater to wack up the odds, every now and then i choose a round to make the fight more exciting, so im not really changing the goal posts, i dont need to put money where my mouth is everytime i have an opinion on a sports result, thats called a gambling problem, but 1 bet i would definatley make against you is the one between khan and bradley if they meet.
