no a fan who spent 18 months writing for Ian Mcneilly who is editor here and ws ont he bbn, he tidiedup my work to make it presentable. good fun for a bit ..work and family ended it though really dont have the time.

I have to concur with the 'J' man here.

I have covered a couple of shows in Hougton-Le-Spring promoted by Maloney, working for Boxrec and I have to say Maloney has come across very well, and has taken a little time to have a bit crack with someone like me who is essentially a fan lucky enough to have been given what is basically journalistic access to shows.

Bearing in mind one of these shows was a World title fight (Booth v Molitor) and there were loads of established journos like Ron Lewis and James Lawton I was treated no differently and Maloney took time to talk to everyone.

Again speak as I find, Maloney comes across as being down to earth and his shows are decent.

He is also promoting in the North East which can only be a good thing.

This argument always makes me wince. Pound for pound, smaller men hit just as hard if not harder than talentless, overweight, overrated heavyweights. They are simply better fighters.

Not just the heavys, Joe Hughes who I was matched to box stopped his man in the first . What I mean is a lot of lemmings get stopped in their first 5 & are called journeymen. I had a mate at Uni called Fat Baz who occasionally worked the door at York Hall in the mid to late 90's. Through him I met Paul Scap Iron Ryan and asked for a photo. Fat Baz also had trouble with his fat fingers and covered the lens when we had our photo taken. I went to Boots the next day for the 1 hr service only to find the fat pudendum ruined my photo. Gutted!!!! Fat Baz, Fat Naz, obviously useless!! DD DD DD

In proportion though a 17/18st man hitting another 17/18st man is/has the same affects as a 10st man hitting another 10st man if you want to compare it like that. You obviously dont have a real understanding of boxing. By you asking a question to a 10st man if he has ever been hit by a 17/18st man is like asking a 17/18st man if he has been hit by a 30st man? Absolutely pointless statement. I wont be so rude and say you come across as a knob jockey so I will just put it down to ignorance and naivety

For the record the truth, I get hit with 8oz gloves by boys that are fitter, stronger pound for pound & actually throw more than two shots a round. Is say judgeing by your post , when it comes to boxing, you don't know your arse from your elbow!
