Yes,but it is a huge London fight and those who were not sure about Haye against whoever in May should be swayed by this on the undercard.Us lot for a start would buy for this rather than Chagaev,Mormeck,etc.

I really have no idea how the business side of boxing works but is there any chance HM have stumped up a lot of cash for this one to put it on the bill and justify ppv for a less than thrilling opponent for Haye's next fight?

Yep. They might think people are going to be sceptical over Haye vs non-K2 after the Harrison 'fight'.

He's a Cheeky sod for winning the purse bids??? Purse bids are designed for this exact situation, all promoters bid and the highest wins.

Haye defending his title, Froch-Johnson and DeGale-Groves on the same card? Now that would be good.
Its a sad state of affairs when three (two, depending who Haye fights) good fights on a PPV seems unlikely!

If I was Warren I would be seriously confident in Degale in this fight and consider it a chance for revenge. James goes over to a Hayemaker bill, gets paid loads, gains a comfortable victory, some excellent exposure, and then back to Warren for a fight with his added press. Leaving Hayemaker out of pocket with a beaten fighter.
All sounds very Haye v Maccarinelli doesn't it

Very few have considered it a 50/50 for months. Groves looked poor in America and vulverable against Anderson, DeGale gets better every fight and easily outclassed a good British Champion.

Is there any chance that Haymaker put in the high bid to get the fight but have some arrangement with Groves that he'll only get 30% of the split, DeGale 60% and Hayemaker keep the remaining 10%?

Hayemaker did not win the purse bid, David Coldwell did and it is he and only he who must stage it and before April. You cannot sell or transfer a purse offer.

Degale will slaughter him. I really believe it will not even be competitive. I already think Degale is in the top 10 Super Middleweights in the world, even now and Groves has so many defensive flaws that Degale will exploit that it could turn out to be a real embarrassment for him. In fact it could be Calzaghe v Lacy esque.

If, and that's a bloody big if, Frankie lets DeGale fight on Haye's, or Coldwell's bill, then it'll be like Cleverly/McIntosh, IMO. The better fighter taking apart the game, but ultimately limited strong-willed brawler. I just can't help but think that the ginger is so overrated on here, even before the Anderson fight.

Degale beats up a domestic level middleweight and all of a sudden he's world class and leagues above?
Seems like Fwank's matchmaking is still enough to pull the wool over people's eyes. Reminds me of the hype around Enzo Macc after the Hobson fights and the comments about Haye.
