Aye, have a 'straightener' with 'em, give 'em a good 'dusting' and force 'em to 'give best'.

Did you see the 'honour fight' on 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'? One lad absolutely clattered the other when proceedings hadn't even begun - the other lad had his hands down and wasn't even looking. Then he proceeded to boot him when he was down.

'Honour fight' :OhYes:

Can't say I did. Doesn't sound like something that would be high on my 'must watch' list.

Not on mine either. I'm tapping away on the laptop while the mrs gives a running commentary on it. Apparently it's been a really big hit.

So i've been hearing. I won't let the missus watch it though. No doubt we'll be seeing a 'Gypsy Shore' programme to go alongside 'Jersey SHore' & 'Geordie Shore'

to be fair Ian the other lad wouldn't have been ready if he had his own dressing room and a 30 second curtain call and Jimmy Lennon Jnr to drum up a crowd, with Mills Lane as referee. You had a lad who could handle himself and a lad who didn't know how to throw punches and did not want to fight. It was a bully job, plain and simple. I've never really understood what kudos people get who beat on people knowing they can't lose......All that aside it was quite a tidy shot to be fair and the lad did well to get up from it and carry on. But as a fight it was a totally pointless exercise.........it made you sit there wanting a fcking fair go with the fcker yourself! :box:

also i was on youtube last night looking for a piece of music and I ended up typing in Paddy Doherty first so spent the next hour watching Danny Dyer prancing around with a load of gypsies........apparently, according to "Pad", once the fella's hand comes off the, ground/ tarmac, you can do whatever the fck you want........I didn't know that, I thought they let em get up.........That's in a fair go......you can however have a "dirty fight" , which Pad's had a few. In a dirty fight you can bite off bits of a man's face if you want.

I caught that bit of the show. The lad who threw the sneaky punch seemed like an absolute pudendum to be fair. Reminded me of a lot of the idiots you see out and about on a Saturday night these days!

he knew what he was in the fcking yard for so let's not be having that bollocks. He just didn't want to be in the yard. It was a bully boy and tbh, as hopeless as the other lad was, when he grabbed hold of him he made the lad look a bit shite.

When bully boy was being interviewed at the end of the 'fight' he was so embarrassed that he threatened the camera crew. His only good moment was his sucker punch, what a toad he was. I have watched a few of those kind of fights on DVD and honestly they all look shite. Game obviously but I put that down to inbreeding, drink and utter stupidity. Mostly total mismatches between local hero and a mutant who doesn't give a toss about himself.

I think Paddy Doherty is the best built gypsy Ive seen.

I know a few who can really fight, but wouldnt be stupid enough to do it on My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings or bootleg DVD's.

11 years is about right, previous or not he's left a man with a severe injury which he's stuck with for life, 11 years is long enough for Fury's dad to think about his actions, though I do fully expect him to be out before then as is the way these days.

Must be previous involved.
If he had done something similar in the past he would have got an indeterminate sentence.More likely backroom chat that got him the top end of the scale.Very powerful places those crown courts...
backroon chat? What do you mean exactly?

I saw him box as well; he was ok but seemed to be pretty much self taught and not much sparring. I'm surprised that he's had someones eye out; he must have thought he was going to lose to go to those lengths.

Toughest man in the country? He'll find out how tough he is when he gets inside I reckon. His sons can't come to his aid in there if he gets kicked in, and I'd imagine there's some pretty hard c***s in Manchester prison...

Unfortunately it's very unlikely he'll get any trouble in jail. Firstly he's a tough, big guy who can fight and is not afraid of violence... plus there'll probably be loads of people he knows in the nick.

It's a lot more likely that he'll be the one doing the bullying

Yeah, I saw him. Mercman has summed him up. What made me laugh was in BM when he said something like if he'd been fighting Akinwande in a field he'd have killed him.
