who's gonna knock him down? great chin, fast hands and once he gets a proper fight, he'll look very good, watch this space!
He has never been in with a world class puncher, so how can we know how he will react when he is hit with a bomb? Also, you don't have to knock someone down to beat them. I don't think Eddie Chambers would knock him down, but he would probably dominate Fury on the cards. Wait until Fury fights a top 25 opponent before saying no one will beat him. I mean he has already been beat once in most eyes and he didn't exactly sparkle against Page.

So far he's had poor to average fighters squaring off against him. He's looked average at best in these fights. Then you've got McDermott beating him in the first fight (we all know he did), and Fury looking no better in the rematch.

Maybe you're right, but the evidence doesn't show that he'll better against better opps. Not yet anyway.

Agree, and I do agree that Fury for the 13 fight novice has a decent resume. The experience John McDermmott (Twice) and a few with good records, some with good size etc.

I think the Yank Fury fought last, undefeated one, was better than this last guy though.
He lost the first Mcdermott fight in most peoples eyes!
True, but that doesn't matter when you just look at his 13 fights. I wasn't looking at the fighters in the opposite corner, and McDermott twice in 13 fights, aint bad going.

Although, not convinced by him I must say.

Yup - if the guy improves he may just turn into a top 10 heavyweight - but he's done nothing to show he's got that potential yet - on the other hand he hasnt shown anything to say he hasnt. He's stepping up at a good rate but he hasnt been in the ring with a decent level opponent and its too early for him to do so.

Give him another year and we will see what hes's about - good or bad.

I would like to see Tyson step up another notch now, he talks the talk and obviously has a shit load of self confidence but its time to start talking real titles.

For my money he's got the best body attack of any current heavyweight prospect, throws a lovely left hook to the ribs off the jab. When he's on top of his opponents, he does throw some lovely combinations, too. I'd like to see him improve his conditioning, it gets annoying seeing him start to tire after only 4 rounds and just pushing the jab out instead of snapping it.

I thought his conditioning was 10 times better than the John Mc fights.

Yep, Redruth!

And yeah, his conditioning was some way better than for the McDermott fights, but there's still acres of space for improvement. No way a guy with 13 fights under his belt should be puffing like that after a few rounds, although to be fair there aren't many guys his size who can keep up a great workrate without gassing (Tye Fields is the exception to that, having quite a good engine but the absolute worst skillset anyone with his record could possibly have)

Thought so, I'm picking up the lingo already. midlander in Truro

Yes there's still room for improvement He's heading in the right direction at least.

well the guy wasnt a pressure fighter like Big John, so that would have helped!

I don't think anyone really knows how good or bad he is. He hasn't really fought anyone and the minute he did he got beat (well should have got beat).

I think a third McDermott fight, Sam Sexton or Martin Rogan would be ideal.

Sprott or Chisora would have too much for him now.

We don't know what level he will reach yet, but we do know he's good enough to box for the British title because he's beaten a proven British title contender twice, stopping him in the rematch.

He's certainly earned his opportunity by first winning the English title and then winning a final eliminator.

Compare that to McDermott who got a British title fight after beating 19 no hopers.

How's his chin seem?

I'd be curious as I heard that Fury's people had reached out to DaVarryl Williamson's people about a ShoBox-type fight in May/June.

Don't know if it went anywhere, but Williamson has a bit of name, good experience and thunder in his right hand....

I've not seen him hurt yet. He hasn't been hit much, and nothing really hard, imo. He does seem solid.

I haven't really seen Fury troubled by anything apart from when he fought McDermott, which was cumulative, and he should have lost on points (terrible decision by the ref). He did uppercut himself in the face once, which looked quite nasty.

He's got all the tools, he backs off from punches quite well, he's massive, and he's got a hammer in his right hand - but i just get the feeling his fitness is going to be an issue at some point in his career when he needs to go 11, 12.

He needs to be tested - there's plenty of names about - Sosnowski and Sprott spring to mind. I even wouldn't mind seeing Fury in with Audrey, if only to see if his bollocks have grown back.

I do agree that Tyson Fury has got all the raw ingredients to be one hell of a fighter, height, reach, handspeed, he puts his combinations together very well and digs into the body as well, okay I do agree the conditioning does need a bit of working on but he is young at 22 and I am sure with the work he has been doing at the Kronk in Detroit with Manny Steward then that shall pay off in the long run. I don't think he is ready yet for Albert Sosnoswki yet no way!! Sprott possibly and perhaps he could be the man to finish off the joke of a career that is Audley Harrison, in that second fight with John McDermott he ran out of gas he was at the heaviest in his career (19 stone 5lbs I think) but he did show plenty of heart and bottle to dig deep and beat McDermott who is seen as the gatekeeper on the domestic scene at Heavyweight.
