"Managing" your company into administration does not = making money!

I reckon he came out of it okay, don't you?

It`s a big boys game, with big boy`s rules and Hennessy for all his attributes of being a boxing man etc, just is not cutting the mustard This is the reason why his stable is falling apart.

For all the talk about Froch being paid well, he is not at the earning level outside of the ring that a man with his history should be.

Hennessy is his promoter, ergo promote him and make him and yourself some real dosh. Spud obviously has some blind love for Meaty Mick which is distorting his perception of reality. He has not delivered for his fighters, look at Murray for christ sake, unbeaten and going where with Hennessy? Nowhere.

Call it for what it is guys. You can pull the strings or you cannot, simple as.

Not at all forcefraser!!!

I met Mick Hennessy through Panos Eliades in March 2002 just before Mick's first promotion - I had seen Mick around before that as he negoitiated on behalf of Robert McCracken for the Howard Eastman fight - Mick was using the then named Lennox Lewis College - I did a few jobs here and there for Mick but my main use was selling tickets for his shows to the squaddies. It was a privelege being a minor part of the team but as far as I was concerned I fell out with Mick due to what I felt was a personal disagreement.

During the recent years Hennessy has even been complimented on this and other forums for the quality of his promotions and the quality of his stable - he was even complimented at the time for negoitiating a TV deal with ITV at the time when that TV company was making massive cuts - indeed on many occasions when the forums have had their end of year nominations Hennessy has come out favourably.

There is absolutely no denying Mick Hennessy is to say the least going through a "lean period" - but yet again this and other forums show their true qualities by kicking a bloke "when he is down" - many of you who simply have not got the first clue how difficult it is being a boxing promoter are now in "Told You So Club" when it was you very people who were stating how refreshing it was to have someone like Hennessy around promoting.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and despite my personal differences with Hennessy - I for one would love to see him bounce back and prove his doubters wrong - he may not do - but British Boxing needs in my opinion people like him within the sport.

So going back to your original comment - yet again you are wrong - the personal differences I have with Mick has meant we will probably not talk again on a friendly basis - those differences however do not cloud my opinions that given the rub of the green Hennessy has what it takes to be a top promoter.

Oh the irony Spud... when boxers or their managers have used this type of argument before i.e. "many of you posters simply have not got the first clue how difficult it is to get in the ring and fight..", you've been the first one to kick off...

I was expecting this comment and glad it has come out so soon. You are indeed correct I have thoroughly enjoyed myself criticising the areas I feel needed criticism - in addition I also freely admit sometimes I have played "games" - that was wrong of me to do so and you for one will acknowledge carrying on with that behaviour is wrong.

These forums are a place where fans should never have their right to voice their opinions taken away - however I find it incredible there are some on here who are very quick to criticise Hennessy in such a brutal way yet it was not so long ago they were so in favour of his promotional company - the very accusations that used to come my way "Deserter"!!!

I am in the main highlighting the "hypocrisy" that many of you lot were so quick to criticise me for - I await the arguments that it is ok for you guys but not for me - but lets get back to Hennessy - I will argue until I am blue in the face - Mick Hennessy has put on some very very good promotions and what has been the kick in the knackers for him is the loss of TV revenue and there being no room at the Inn at Sky for his promotions.
