Bute told him he was his hardest fight according to a team mage member

It was fairly predictable stuff. Magee is solid, but that`s as far as it goes.
Bute is a level above and although Magee gave a decent account of himself, there was only ever going to be one winner.
Bute v Kessler would be a good fight.

What did you think of the fight? I was hoping Magee could pull it off, but I missed it.
Magee Put in a good performance and Shake bute early on, but as the fight progressed bute started to slip in rights to the body after Magee threw right left combos. Just a question of the younger faster guy having the edge, don't understand tho why ref stopped the fight so quickly, Magee was still fresh.
The fight pretty much went the way they expected but bite didn't drop his head or energy levels, which they were banking on.
Bute took Magee seriously and that's the mark of a champion

Am I the only one who thought Magee was very poor on the night?
We all knew Bute was a class above, but it was a shut out on the night (in my opinion), and I thought Magee was as flat as a pancake. Never did a thing.

I think Magee won the third round and perhaps another.

Not for me. Everything Magee did looked powderpuff compared to Bute.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel Magee could've made a better account of himself on the night. Did Magee even try to land a single shot to Bute's body?
In a world title fight, he should've let his hands go more.

Just watched the fight myself, it was a good scrap, really enjoyed it. I thought Magee had a great shout in winning the 3rd and 5th rounds but that was the best he could have hoped for. Bute does have one hell of a left hand, the speed and snap he can get in it is fantastic, the fact Magee kept getting up and withstanding the bodyshots was remarkable in itself.
Defensively though Bute still leaves alot to be desired, great news for the fans when he steps though. He'll slot in nicely with Ward/Froch/Kessler etc. if and when he does step up. He'd make terrific fights with all of them and I can't wait to see it.
Hopefully Magee will push for the DeGale-Groves winner, whoever wins would face a serious test in Magee I reckon.
Well done to Brian for a brave showing
