Mick has done well for Carl. You have to feel sorry for him.

I think you will find that in has been Carl which has done well for Hennessy

Yeah Mick couldn't get home advantage or a tv deal for a damn exciting world champion, leaving him no option than to take on the top boys giving all the advantages away.

He did secure home advantage to win the world title, home advantage for the Dirrel fight (which was essential) and got a netural venue for the very tricky to handle Saurland promoters.... better than what Frank manage to get for either Beyer and Ottke to take on Joe.

3 of his world title fights were shown on ITV 1 - one of them live. We all praised FW for getting Hopkins vs Calzaghe on delay on the BBC.

I think Hennessy wouldn't have won no matter what he did. He got Froch national TV exposure for years - more Froch fights have been shown live on National TV (BBC or ITV) than any British boxer of the last 10 years, maybe Harrison and Khan might have more. Froch was also showcased on Sky - did Sky report any outstanding viewing figures for him?

Even if Froch vs Abraham/Kessler would have gone onto to Sky, chances are is that it would be on Sky Box Office - and Hennessy would have been criticised again.

Hennessy has been one of the most dearing and proactive promoters in recent times - sure he's had things back fire on him (February's bill for KO) - but you cannot fault his attempts.

Works both ways. Carl is in a position now to call the shots, but Hennessy helped to put him in that position.

Mick has done nothing to suggest he is a Euro level promoter!

Funny how Gomez is over all other Froch topics like a tramp on chips but hasn't touched this one...

I smell a get up.

What if Froch was told that the only thing stopping him going on Sky was his promoter's and his negotiation technique?
Was it amicable split?
What is happening with Rob McCracken?

Spill it Gomez :D :D

We are guessing he has had no media training, you've pointed out that he is articulate infront of the camera - he's not exactly James "Defail" is he. I think your making it sound like he has shunned the interviews etc - he's been approachable on TV, just hasn't got it and I've said before I think it also is there with his fighting style also. Its not eye catching, its not always pretty and whilst most of the time he is in wars - when the styles clash they are often stinkers.
Stu, I don't want to labour the point, but you're talking about exposure to his core audience through one medium, boxing. That was/is the platform, but there are a plethora of other channels and tactics to then leverage this into building a personna and exposure, it's not necessarily an end in itself.

Agreed :TU:

Good luck to Carl Froch in the future.

I expect that Carl Froch will retain Robert McCracken as his trainer regardless of the split with Mick Hennessy as they have been together since Froch joined the paid ranks 10 years ago and has helped win the Commonwealth Super Middleweight title, win the Lonsdale Belt outright along with the WBC World title twice, so why change something that works and I do agree Froch was too loyal to Hennessy

McCracken and Hennessy are said to be very good friends .. this is where the problem starts.
