I don't believe the general opinion is actually that one-sided. Being able to vote without stating an opinion means that people will probably vote for who they wanted to win, even if they didn't see or score the fight, or if they thought the other guy won.BIGMARK wrote:BUMP, QUITE SURPRISED THE POLL is so one sided

Question for the group then - the people who have scored the fight, do you not admit that there were rounds that could have gone either way? These people who are so certain - i.e the poster who (certain) says it was either two rounds to Degale, or one, or a draw, which were the rounds you felt were open to interpretation, which were even, which were clearly only able to be scored - in your opinion - to one fighter?
Re: WHO WON, YOUR SCORES, POLL
The close rounds for me were the ones that didn't have many punches thrown, let alone landed. I gave this to James because he was coming forward being the more aggressive, and whilst Groves moved about the ring superbly - when punches weren't thrown I couldn't credit him.@matt___s wrote:Question for the group then - the people who have scored the fight, do you not admit that there were rounds that could have gone either way? Re: WHO WON, YOUR SCORES, POLL
I had Degale up by 2 rounds. Admittingly there were a lot of close rounds so I'm not arguing about the decision. Close fight but not a great fight. I always thought this fight came to early for both of them. If they both go on to bigger things then down the line a rematch could be built up into an event ala Benn v Eubank II only next time they fight like Benn V Eubank I.
Re: WHO WON, YOUR SCORES, POLL
Watching from ringside, I had Degale by a point. One of the blokes next to me had Groves by a point, the other had DeGale by a point. Very, very close, and could have gone either way. Ludicrous of FW to cry foul and demand an enforced rematch.
I agree with a previous poster that I can't understand some of the comments about it being boring. Maybe it was the atmosphere at the O2, but I really enjoyed it. The fact that it was nip and tuck all the way made it really compelling.

Re: WHO WON, YOUR SCORES, POLL
Hello people, first time poster so do go easy :) Yes i wanted George to win but i am no DeGale hater, if he was fighting an oversea's fighter for a world title (which i am sure he will at some point) i would want him to win, however...
....in response to the question over which rounds were contentious it appears to me that rounds 7 & 8 were the really difficult rounds to score in this fight, round 8 especially so as very little was thrown.
Personally i think george just nicked round 7 by landing a few more shots but i don't think either fighter did enough to win round 8 so scored it 10-10. Outside of those rounds i gave george rounds 2,3,4,5, & 10 and james rounds 1,6,9,11,& 12.
I had george winning by 115-114 but if someone saw rounds 7 & 8 different to me i wouldn't argue too much.
Credit to both guys for taking the fight. Look forward to a rematch in a couple of years time.

Re: WHO WON, YOUR SCORES, POLL
I had Degale by 1-2 points, but cannot argue with the result as it was so close. Was amazed at how Degale was unable to adapt to Groves tactics. As much as I dislike Degales persona, I hope he learns from this as his potential remains unquestionable.

Thank you bigmark :)
Just wanted to add to my previous comment before i'm pulled up on it. Yes i know very little was thrown in round 6 but what little was thrown by degale landed but nothing george threw did which made it an easy round to score for me.
