Surely you as Rickys trainer should be aware that the IBF have stripped Fana.
If you are so keen on getting a unification bout for Ricky, why dont you call out the winner of the belt when Mendez and TBA contest it?
Your assessment of him stating that Ricky would beat him everyday could be put to the test.
Cook is not really the best preparation for a unification bout thats for sure
Mendez will get a boxing lesson from Ricky no two ways about it,thats IF he FIGHTS for and WINS the title, i think Lee Baird is getting a little excitable regarding training a world level fighter by himself if that is the case!
My advice would be at least win the title before shouting out opponents coz you could look a right FOOL otherwise.
billie what are you talking about, ive worked with (on my own) more world level fighters than you kiddo, so it aint no case,
mendez would beat ricky very easily to mate, mendez dont even have ricky in mind, he would like Aoh ( he from japan wbc champ) when he wins his title, ( fana vacated rather than fight him so he fighting for vacant )
and i wont take your advise regarding mendez, when you dont really need to win in any title to get a shot pal,
oh by the way the only thing that excites me is Craig Evans mate, tremendous talent

I think this is too early for Cook in his comeback and I just can't see him winning this. Everyone knew it was going to happen but what has Cook done recently to warrant this? It just devalues the belt and boxing in general.

What a ridiculous statement.
Ricky is a tough fighter, great work rate and tremendous heart but lets not make his boxing skills out to be something they arent Billy, you seriously think he will dish out a boxing lesson to a guy who has been ranked in ring magazines rankings nearly twice as long as him and who has had more fights than ricky has had slices of square sausage?
This isnt personal by any means as Ricky is a nice lad and deserves his success but come come back to the real world.
Could he beat Mendez, well anything is possible but give him a boxing lesson? Thats just an ignorant statement.
Does Ricky know you come on here making these kind of comments?
Who is Lee Baird by the way?
To clarify, I dont believe Lee ever shouted Ricky out, he was asked a question and answered it in a respectful manner giving credit where credit is due to a world champion and potential opponent, something you havent exactly done.

Cook wins this for me, he's recharged and had a good run our against Al Hamidi.
Also, the venue (Liverpool) could really work in Cook's favour ie less biased Jocks cheering Burns' every blow. In fact, I think Cook will win this with something to spare.
