I agree Glyn. If I gave you £1,000,000, who would you bet it on.
Uuuuuurgh ... it changes from day to day Moony, today I'm thinking Haye but other days I think Wlad - can't ask for much more from a fight really, can you! Who would you bet it on?
I'm the same mate, today choice is Wlad on points, last week was Haye by stoppage, so if I had place a bet today, I'd bet on Wlad.

WHo would you bet on if I was going to the bookies in half an hour with your £1,000,000?

Today is a Haye day mate. Tomorrow I will be crying at the thought of that decision!

I love the fact that this is such a tough one to call.

I've put my money on Haye inside the 12 rounds, although as soon as I put my bet on I wanted to change it to Wlad on points.... back to thinking Haye by stoppage now though

It could well be a complete stinker of a fight overall but you are almost guaranteed at least one or two heart in the mouth moments.

1 and 3 aren't going to happen.

If Haye tires, he's toast, Wlad will break him down and stop him.

Because neither man has a solid beard, and both can punch hard - is it not obvious?

I agree that they both punch hard, but sometimes fighters ability to take punches can improve - Tommy Hearns in his later career is a good example.

Tommy just learnt to hang on when hurt, and I guess both Wlad and Haye know how to fight when hurt - both have come off the canvas to win. But I really think it's levels here, and Wlad's chin is waaaay better than Haye's.

Can you imagine Wlad having life and death with a 168lb fighter like Mock ? The punchers that have hurt Wlad have been major league heavyweights. Punches from fighters like Barrett just bounce off him, unlike Haye, who was shaken and dropped by a glancing shot from Barrett.

Well, it was a pretty full-on left hook to the mouth which Haye ran into, although I guess we'll never know how much of Haye's dizziness came from the subsequent foul while Haye was down. But I agree that Wlad's punch resistance is better. A major reason he's been down a lot is that the bugger just keeps on getting up, even when Ross Purritty and Corrie Sanders (a pair of really, really big punchers, Sanders especially so in the early rounds) were battering him around the ring. The only one to put him down for the count is Lamont Brewster in that bizarre first fight; and Brewster, again, is for all his flaws a thunderous puncher. Lolenga Mock and Monte Barrett are not.

Both have dodgy chins.
I just think Klit is to big and is greatly improved enough to box Haye until he is a bloody mess then put him away in 5.
Haye will keep trying his right hand but will only connect half heartedly as Klit is not going to let him get his right hand over.
Klit is bigger hits harder and utilises his size to well for Haye to get close.
I'm not convinced Haye can KO Klit with just the one right hand anyway he does not hit as hard as Saunders at this weight.

Conclusion Klit in 5 :box:

1. Not going to happen.
2. Haye will be knocked out, unless Wlad is equally as tired.
3. Not going to happen.

It's a great fight, it really is.

I can't see Haye fighting on the backfoot - that would be suicide. I think he'll come out swinging looking to put Wlad away early. That could end one of two ways, one, he'll catch Wlad and KO him, or two, Wlad will catch him coming in and it'll be goodnight!

I've got a feeling Haye by KO in 4.

If Wlad does decide to 'go for it', how might that look? I'd guess more intensely walking Haye down + three straight right hands per round!

Wlad does not have the bollocks to go for broke. He knows he's chinny, and with a hard hitting, sharp shooting counter puncher like Haye, he will be cautious. No doubt he will want to test the Hayemakers chin early doors to see if Haye will fold (and vice versa), but he will wait as long as need be before throwing the straight right. He will not go for broke, forget it!

Of course he is going to fight of the backfoot, thats the one thing you dont need a crystle ball to predict in this fight.

If I knew for certain that haye would go for broke from the start I'd put my house on him to win.
However i think he'll employ similar tactics to the Valuev fight, really really hope not cuz that will surely create a truly boring fight.

although i havent seen it for about 20 years, i would imagine that hayes plan will be similar to micheal spinks when he nicked the title off larry holmes.there are many parallels in these fights. maybe someone could point them out?

I realise it can only take 1punch to turn a fight - especially in the heavyweight division.

But Hayes only chance - and its a slim chance - of beating Wlad is to catch him with a big shot.
Haye will never out box or even box on an even footing to work the big shot into the mix.
His only chance is to get lucky and wait for an opening..... Wlad will know this is Hayes only chance, and will fight accordingly.

I don't see this being exciting - and def not a 50/50 fight as some here seem to think.

I just want to see how Haye's speed measures up against Klitschko. He needs to be able to get in and get out sharpish. I'm not questioning Haye's courage in the slightest, but I can't see him coping with the kind of shots Lamon Brewster took before Klitschko fell apart in their first fight.

Haye surely has to break through early and draw him into a slugfest. I can't see how else he'll win. Klitschko is far too good at long range in a fencing contest. Haye was knackered by the end of the Valuev fight with all the movement and he won't be able to win with such a low punch output against Wladimir.

I just have a feeling Klitschko will jab Haye's head off and drop in the odd right hand to keep him honest as per usual and tie Haye up when he gets close and use his weight to sap the strength out of Haye's legs and beat him in about six rounds.

i see haye circling away from wlad's right.

he might give away some rds.

but ultimately haye will get thru.

and wlad's useless when he's hurt.

it all goes out the window.

haye in 4 or 5 rds. :box:

i see haye's movement negating the damage he takes.

he'll be defensive and keep wlad at long range.

i see him losing rds.

but not shipping anything too bad.

and then BANG. :D

I just see Klitschko coming out better in a cat-and-mouse type of fight, with the physical advantages he has.

This.

Seriously, though, who knows what plan Booth will dream up next? Will he secretly graft batwings onto the back of Haye, to lift him up into the air, out of Wlad's reach? & then to swoop in on darting divebombing raids, thus negating both Wlad's jab & his height in one fell, er, swoop? I've looked, nowhere in the unified rules does it prohibit the use of batwings.

It's gonna be just like the Fan Man, except this time the audience will be full of Germans & hopefully Haye won't have to be carried out of the arena.
