Yes its my favourite to watch too dude, but it wasn't my best performance, my shoulder was just startin to get really seriously injured and i was booked in for my 1st operation for the tues after the fight on the fri, it was that bad. Shouldn't hav fought really but needed the money, 1 year old son and one on the way at the time.

People still talk about that fight in boozers. I was a casual boxing fan that only really watched heavyweight fights and the superstars, and after a semi-pissed conversation about boxing one evening, a Turkish mate brought a DVD round which had that fight, and a few others on it back end of 2007 - was the first domestic boxing i'd watched in years.
Haven't seen many better tear-ups than that since. You two more than earned your money that night, and I reckon it was responsible for quite a few Sky subscriptions (including mine). Glad to see they recognise this, and nice one with the presenting/punditry.

My left one!! Had 4 op's (2 on each shoulder) in 3 and a half years and still fought 9 times!!

Great story, 99% of people in boxing are very approachable, can you imagine getting the same response from a top footballer? WP Jamie for doing that

footballers are famous & it goes to most there heads.boxers feel like normal people.

Jamie the titles you won are immense. you went the traditional route aswell which must be commended. Do you wish you would have had an area title, english title and a title such as WBU or IBO so to the casual fan you were a 'world' champ. Many people who have held these alphabet titles are far less deserving of local recognition than you. and who would you like to have fought realistically in your career that didnt materialise?

Mate I won the Irish title as well which i'm proud about, so i'm i'm happy with what I acheived. No I wouldn't have liked to have won an IBO or such as if I wouldn't have wanted to be called a World Champ when I wasn't. The fight I wanted was Sergio Martinez, I was asking Barry Hearn for it after he beat Williams and later when he became WBC Light Middleweight champ Frank M nearly made it, but it wasn't to be.

Well jealous there boys other than Ryan Rhodes you've met me 3 favourite boxers all in 1 day (Reid, Jennings and Moore) - looks a terrific day and proper fair play to Jamie what a bloke - he really is a credit to the sport.
On a sidenote I contacted Bomber yesterday through twitter to get my mrs younger brother a signed pic or something (as he's a big fan and big evertonian too) and he said he would sort it out - proper gents both of them.

I always wanted to see you against Bradley Pryce when you were both having regular wars during the 05-08 period. You would havee easily beat K-9, Sechew Powell, Joel Julio, Kassim Ouma and Grady Brewer all who would have brought good money. The IBO is fairly respected nowadays, the WBU aint though. But thats a fighters fighter who wants a real title. Did you get the message about weight cutting?
