Read this on another forum a few days ago:

I was told last month by a very trusted, knowledable colleague that either a Scots or Welsh boxer would win gold but not an English boxer, that Englands nominated official would be rejected by AIBA and that the current English defending champion would lose his title. So far thats 2 out of 3 he's got right. Be interested to see whether the remaining boxers are subject to controversial decisions.

What the comment highlights is the blatant corruption and politics in the am game. It's more rife than people think.
That wasn't just a potshot in the dark. If you remember Rob McCracken was banned before the event too...
