IMO first quarter will be absolutely boring hardly any punches will be landed.
Second quarter wlad begins to take control with the jab.
Third quarter Haye scraps plan A and adopts plan B Bish Bash Bosh Haye TKO.

Good post!LeedsLad wrote:There's an awful lot of flagwaving/misguided patriotism going on in this thread.
Listening to some of you lot going on, you'd think all Haye has to do is throw a big right hand and the God's will grant him victory.
Given Haye's low output in his HW career to date, and poor finishing ability, I fail to see how even if he manages to hit and hurt Wlad, how he'll finish him off. Look at the Harrison fight, against a journeyman he was reluctant to let his hands go. Why is that going to change, against a better opponent?
Wlad is deceptively quick and is a very accurate puncher. Watch how Ruiz was tagging him with jabs, and Mormeck hitting him with right hands..... and ask yourself how long Haye can take those kind of shots.
The last thing I expect Haye to try and do is rush Wladimir. His fans always use this ''well, all his previous opponents are fat bums'' - but is Haye any better than Chris Byrd? Seriously? Power aside, I think he's actually inferior in most departments.
His HW career has been very carefully managed. Barrett was a safe-ish entry in to the division, Valuev lost to Holyfield in the eyes of almost everyone who watched their fight, and Ruiz again whilst being double tough hadn't beaten anyone of note in years. And Harrison![]()
My mother would fancy her chances.
The best bet in this fight is Klitschko in rounds 7-12. 11/4 with most bookies. Definitely worth a fair chunk IMO.

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
I predict a Corrie Sanders job, Klitschko to suffer an embarassing KO defeat to a miles faster opponent, the first live opponent he has faced for YEARS.

Someone has been listening too much to Steve Bunce's Haye propaganda.
Klitschko is way better than the man that faced Sanders and Brewster.... yet Hayelords conveniently forget this!

I haven't listened to Bunce since he was on Setanta tbh. Do you not believe people can form their own opinions?LeedsLad wrote:TheCobra wrote:I predict a Corrie Sanders job, Klitschko to suffer an embarassing KO defeat to a miles faster opponent, the first live opponent he has faced for YEARS.![]()

Yeah he grabs more, holds, throws the jab and moves back more....still the same at the core, mate.LeedsLad wrote:TheCobra wrote:I predict a Corrie Sanders job, Klitschko to suffer an embarassing KO defeat to a miles faster opponent, the first live opponent he has faced for YEARS.![]()

Haye in four. July 2 is Haye Day. Haye Day on July 2. Speed and movement win this. July 2 is Haye Day...
Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
Haye will win by 5th round TKO or retire after the 6th because he kind of looks like Lamon Brewster. Perfect logic at work here.
Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
Haha I like your thinking. Re-watching the Brewster first fight I can see Haye being able to land very similar shots that Brewster took him out with.crusader wrote:Haye will win by 5th round TKO or retire after the 6th because he kind of looks like Lamon Brewster. Perfect logic at work here.

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
I'm surprised by the confidence in Haye. I don't share it, so I voted Wlad by KO.
I think knowledgeable fans are divided by Haye's potential and his actual record. He's always been immensely talented, but having absolute faith in him is, I feel, to ignore that data in favour of an imagined fight. A fight where the very best version of Haye outmanoeuvres the everyday version of Klitschko. It could happen, but I'd be too afraid to bet on it.
That said, I'd also be afraid to bet much on Klitschko in case he has a wobbly on the ring walk. I'm sure there'll be nerves on both sides, in which case the bigger man has the natural advantage. For that reason alone - the greater capacity to protect himself during moments of fear, I favour Wlad.
I hope the winner is boxing.

I've had my money on Haye already to blow Wlad out between rounds 1-6! I think I might even stick a tenner on Haye blasting out Wlad within 60 seconds at 28-1! Points is out of the question...........not going to happen!
I'll eat my hat if Haye loses.......I really can't see it! He eats tall, upright Ukrainian fighters for breakfast! Just ask Oleksandr Hurov

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
I wouldn't be surprised if Haye got knocked out by a jab, people question Wlads chin but Hayes is more the talking point in my opinion.
I'm a big fan of Haye, and would love him to win this fight, but I think Wlad is going to tie him in knots and wear him down for a comfortable victory.
The other thing that may happen is that Wlad freezes, this will then favour Haye, because he will be able to work his openings to land the big shots - My own view is that Haye needs to jump on him from the first bell, and shake his confidence with some rattling shots, I think it's likely Wlad will crumble quite quickly if that happens.
Overall though I think Haye has his work cut out, the first round is going to be crucial for me, let Wlad get settled and it's going to be a long night for Haye.

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
The Gods visited me in my sleep last night and gave me a definitive premonition of what's going to happen on Saturday........ I can now reveal that Haye wins in the first, after landing a straight right like the one that put Ruiz down in the first. If all these premonitions come true then I'm going to be naked in the local swimming baths as well.
Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
His name was never either of them. They're both just interpretations of his Russian name. Boxrec changed the way they interpreted Russian names. Like Wladimir can also be spelled Vladimir.Lenny wrote:When did his name change from Alexander Gurov to Oleksandr Hurov?leforge wrote:Who Terry Dunstan took at in the same manor too!crusader wrote: The EBU level cruiserweight?

Hugh Mcilvanney thinks Vlad has too much for Haye, he knows his onions, and I agree with him. Probably by lateish stoppage.

haye gets stopped in the middle rounds! come on klitschko!
Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
Seems people are being blinded by the antics and verbal ramblings of Haye, instead of looking at his record at heavyweight record. Haye has a questionable record at heavyweight, and has fought safety first opponents. I'll give Haye a pass for beating Valuev (although he was garbage) but he gained himself a bargaining point with Klitschko so that's understandable. Haye has never been in with someone that punches remotely as hard as Wlad, and this is where Haye will fold. As soon as that jab, or the first straight punch lands, he'll be on his bike.
Thing is, Mr Haye will find out the hard way Saturday I'm afraid. He is actually fighting someone at heavyweight with a pulse,
I predict some hairy moments for Wlad early, maybe even a flash knock-down, but Haye will fail take him out. Haye being a great finisher is a novelty - even Audley Harrison managed to survive the Haye onslaught on his feet and wasn't that hurt.
Haye will be flat out on his back this Saturday unless he pulls something I haven't seen before (very doubtful). The first shot Wlad lands, Haye will be hurt. Haye is a CW, and we're about to find that out Saturday.

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
I was gung-ho for Haye for ages against either K, but the closer it gets to the actual fight I'm leaning more towards Wlad, probably on points.

Re: The Big One: Haye V Klitschko predictions
I honestly think Haye and Booth have pulled off a massive con job by
A, Getting this fight.
B, Getting this money.
C, Convincing the general public he`s this aggressive massive heavyweight puncher.
His fights against Valuev and Harrison were two of the worst heavyweight fights ever yet
people make him out to be this Giant slayer,
I just can`t see anything but a conclusive Wlad win.
