Yeah, but Haye probably has the worst chin of anyone Klitchsko's fought in the last decade at heavyweight.
I'd be tempted myself - If he plants one on Haye early, he definitely has the power to stop him cold.
I don't want to sound rude mate, but you're talking rubbish. Check Wlad's record.
Err no I'm not...you do sound rude, not to mention ignorant.

Wlad is a CAREER HEAVYWEIGHT - as have been all of his prior opponents in the last 10 years. Haye has been decked by Lolenga Mock who was a blown up super middleweight, and Jean Mark Mormeck.

Haye at the end of the day has very little form at heavyweight, and hasn't actually been tagged very often. He also hasn't fought anyone with Wlads combination of size, power, skills and experience.

Name one fighter on Wlad's record from the last 10 years, that you reckon Haye has a better chin than at heavyweight.

Maybe Fabio Moli - but again, Moli has spent an entire career at heavyweight. Oh and Wlad knocked him out in a round.

Don't be surprised to see Haye's knees dip the first time he takes a big jab.

well, i agree..... i think wladimirs jab might be too much for hayes chin!!!
I'll make you a sportsmans bet that Wladimir does not stop Haye. If I win, you have to issue a public apology on here and likewise.
I don't think anyone needs to apologise for being wrong.

Yeah for a tough sport like boxing you need fans who are hard enough to shout abuse at fighters from behind barriers with a bunch of their equally out of shape drunken mates.

I realise it's part of the game when any British fighter goes abroad, but I always think just cheer you man on, relax, have a beer and enjoy the fight.
Thats the type of fans this violent sport attracts, no harm in it IMO, just the travelling Brits showing where their allegances lie.

This violent sport certainly didnt used to attract people singing songs about the war/booing anthems etc. That's only a relatively recent phenomenon.

ouch, don't like falling out with a main player like yourself on here, but mate, get real.......

Shouting England when supporting an Englishman is hardly out of order is it? i LOVE the fact there are so many prepared to turn up at a weigh in and make Haye feel like we are there. All the chanting is part of what we bring to the table as fans....
Personally speaking, I don't really like the fact that these big away fights seem to have turned into an England football crowd over the last decade. I feel like it changed a lot during the Hatton years where although the people abroad were impressed with the size of the support for the british fighter and the noise (as was I), they were less impressed with the booing of anthems/jingoistic songs/throwing up from drinking too much etc (as was I). I know a few lifelong boxing fans who were really dissapointed about the Hatton fans booing the national anthem of another country so vociferously.

Going abroad to big fights has now become the fashionable thing to do, and it has resulted in the fact that you can be in Vegas sitting next to someone who is singing rule brittania etc but doesn't have the slightest clue about boxing.

People might think that's fine - I just preferred the olden days when you could still get right behind the fighter but without the football crowd. I wouldn't be surprised to hear songs being sung about the war etc in Hamburg and that's an unfortunate part of the way that away boxing crowds have changed in recent times imo.

Perhaps its because I'm Scottish, and when I'm abroad supporting a British fighter I don't want to spend the night singing ingerland ingerland ingerland. I feel like it used to be a more british rather than english atmosphere even for english fighters.
Yes, it has helped in the scoring aswell...... Calzaghe vs Hopkins, Hatton vs Collazo, Haye vs Valuev.

BIG football fan crossover these days, but boxing fans have never been shrinking violets IMO, it goes with the nature of the sport.

Like hitting a poxy little ball around with a stick or a racquet attracts middle-class toffs

Sky Sports has some interesting quotes from Haye in its story about the weigh-in:

Haye added: "I don't think I'm getting under his skin. I think he genuinely thinks he's going to win this fight. He genuinely thinks I'm an annoying little Englishman that he's going to squash."

The WBA champion was in no doubt that he needs to take the initiative right from the opening bell, reasoning: "The first round is going to be imperative. I've got to land my bombs and make sure he doesn't land his, plain and simple. I can't afford to get pumped in the face by his big jab. The plan from day one has always been to take away his asset, which his jab. Take it away and dish out some of what I've got."

Sounds like sense to me. Though executing it is obviously going to be challenging!

Of course they will. And the Germans will be thinking:-

a. There isn't a German guy in the fight
b. We have a budget deficit of below 3%; the UK's is over 10%
c. Our national debt is 142% of GDP; the UK's is over over 400%
d. We get better pensions
e. We have lower unemployment
f. We have higher GDP
g. We have a greater rate of economic growth
h. We have greater influence in the EU than the UK
i. We have won three world cups
j. Our women are prettier
k. Our weather is better
l. The British managed to be on the winning side in WW2 thanks to the Soviet Union and the US
m. etc....

I've said all along that Haye is under no illusions about enormity of the task. Haye knows he has to fight the perfect game plan.

The thing is, he is having to fight against his instincts which are to be cautious early. If he reverts to type, and starts posing, then the fight could be over before he's even gotten going.

I'm the realest! Only kidding, we won't fall out, we just disagree on this one.

Macho has said it with more eloquence than I can muster. I just don't get it. Support your man but without looking like louts. They booed Wlad but whipped out their camera phones the moment he got close (can't take credit for noticing that one, read it on Twitter). Why not just acknowledge the guy and cheer Haye rather than saving the most noise for jeering a fine fighter and great ambassador for the sport?

Might be a colonial hangover. We used to invade countries and run them. Now we just visit them and run their athletes down.
haha, fair do's mate, if you look what i wrote, i was only taking about the engerland chats which i like, i don't agree with the booing etc though so we definately agree on that.

I'll be there on the night cheering me little heart out, and believe it or not i'm hoping the fans won't resort to the dambusters etc....i'm there to support and enjoy it.

I've just watched the weigh-in footage Stu and Vlad looks utterly impassive - intense, but not wound-up, if that makes sense? I felt like Haye was talking a lot more to psych himself up rather than in a bid to rattle Vlad. You can try to make too many judgements from a weigh-in, but I have to say that Vlad seems incredibly focused and confident. What's fascinating about this fight is that both their demeanours could change rapidly once they've felt the other's power!

If you were a once great human being who had atrophied into a weary cretin due to abject personal failure and bad judgement, would you brag about it or keep your mouth shut?
Get real mate, England is still one of the richest nations on earth - and has a society which people flock from all corners of the world to get to.

And who said that being the biggest and richest is best.

This country has it's problems, but go look around the world a bit mate, you'll soon put it into perspective.

I came back from Rio recently, one of the major cities of South America, and step away from the glitz of Ipanema and Copacobana, and see the real Rio and your realise how inequitable Brazilian society is, and how much grinding poverty, destitution and death there is on the streets, and that's not even in the Favela's, I'm just talking about regular neighborhoods.

I'm proud to be from this country, my family came here from Ireland in the 1950's, and were able to build a life here. London in particular, for all of it's flaws, is an incredible, cosmopolitan and vibrant city which is the envy of the world.

Thanks for the Getty link, Macho.

Anyone who is thinking of betting on an early Wlad KO; don't forget that Wlad will want it to go near the end as the German fans prefer that, and Wlad will make more money through between round advertising. Wlad will only score an early KO if Haye pushes it.
