BBC lost MOD and Audley won a medal, so terrestrial came back. Audley fkked it up, BBC behaved like they were pleased. Sky still largely presented shit and promoters were happy to oblige. BBC lost interest despite good figures for blue collar guys like Clinton Woods. Tip: British fans just want good fights between evenly matched fighters not one side processions.

ITV lost MOD and FW was growing tired of SKY pressure, so terrestrial came back. Hatton fkked it up by staying at SKY and Danny Williams having a period the day before the opening night didn't help either. ITV lost interest as the BBC had despite good audiences for blue collar guys like Froch. Tip: Fans want good fights between.......you get the picture.

Setanta came along and shook things up; SKY froze, stopped presenting boxing as a frontline sport in its adverts and showed more PPV with adverts for Hatton, Calzaghe and then Khan. Khan was PPV for Oisin Fagan. Dreadful, gutless, directionless screwing of boxing fans.

Setanta went and SKY was the only show, again, but new standards were applied, out went IBU, WBF, WBU crap and in came the Hennessy model. The only sod who tried to stick to his principles through ALL of these channel changes. His reward, the stars left or got beat and he couldn't get on fkking TV. The last laugh?

Hennessy has Tyson Fury on primetime terrestrial television and now has a fighter with more public recognition than Carl Froch, Kell Brook or Nathan Cleverly.

The answer was always thought to be a devoted boxing channel, jsut showing boxing, alas allegedly has started so well but I don't trust it to remain so willing to spend when the reality of a 27,000 subscriber list bites.

3 million people watched Fury v Firtha. How many watched fight of the year Cleverly v Bellew?

Boxing like everything is a victim of options to the viewer, the greed of those within it - which aside from a few doesn't include the fighters as a rule - but those who earn from them.

Now we have the phrase "it only makes sense as a PPV" as an excuse for the repeated calls for more PPV events. But even these have been fkked up by Khan, then Haye (with the help of Audley).

Self-destruction is rife in boxing and fans never, ever realise there strength. Dont buy PPV's. The they'll stop using it.

There is, somehow, always a new outlet for boxing though. Because if Nadal v Federer was on centre court and a fight broke out in the stand, everyone would watch the fight. If Mayweather v Pacman was on at the MGM and two guys started knocking up, nobody would even notice.

Well apart from those desperate for something to write on twitter to make themselves sound interesting.
