Seemed to be eluding that the announcement is about who the co-commentator will be

A few guesses

Jim Rosenthal with Murry Walker
John Motson

Recently retired boxer maybe:

No chance of Hatton/Calzaghe with FW

RJJ - could be a good shout, been doing a bit of commentating in the US
Frank Bruno
Naseem Hamed
Maybe Lennox

Btw has Bunce even been confirmed? Maybe thats the news.

Who knows... Khan and Warren didn't part on too bad of terms and goldenboy get on quite well with FW. I'm pretty sure they'd choose allegedly over Primetime given the chance.

It's got to be a big fight. For whatever anyone says about Bunce, no one will buy a channel solely because of the presenter.

If you listen to the conference, the big news is about who the mystery presenter will be.

This has got Anti Climax written all over it unfortunately.....
A name like RJJ, Lewis or Holyfield would fit the bill imo.

twenty six wrote:To be fair, let's set out what Mr Warren has said. We've all been critics from time to time, but here it is.

Free to air until the end of the year.
Thereafter £10.00 per month.
NO PPV
Also includes MMA and Amateurs.
Deals struck with Sauerland and Goldenboy.
Kessler already booked.
Hopkins already booked.
Channel 456 on air 6 hours per day.
Chat show with Buncey.

I don't think that's a bad start.
My worry is that I just can't see how the quality can be sustained to provide coverage of live shows, every Friday and Saturday.
Even if the best are shown Saturday evenings, it's going to be a massive job to service 30 shows per annum.
Even if Lord Lucan was brought forward to be the mystery presenter - I wouldn't descibe that as World shattering news, but let's see who it is.
I wouldn't hesitate to say that lurking somewhere is a deal with David Haye.
In this time of conspiracy theorists, I think it would be easy to put that one together. However he has stated NO PPV so we should keep him to that, if Haye v Klit came off !
I wonder who else is a part owner here. It would be difficult for Mr Warren to be financing all of this on his own.
I think we'd be daft not to give it a chance, then decide on the subscription at year end.
The main concern is objectivity. We all know the man's not big on that. I suppose it doesn't really matter if the fights deliver, but we all know how ridiculous his column is sometimes, so will this be a TV version of that? Can we "tune out" if a fight is crap and we're being told it's amazing, and even worse, if we're constantly being told how crap the boxers of rival promoters are? Will the commentators and pundits be allowed to be critical where due? I very much doubt it.

No way. Mr Warren would never work with him again following events when he promoted him in the UK.

Richard Keys as a presenter??? Seriously? I've nothing against him as a presenter but I cannot imagine having him as the face of the channel is a good PR strategy.

They've already announced that Jim Rosenthal and Paul Dempsey will be on board and I think I heard that John Rawling is on commentary - just how many do they want to present it.... what was one of the major problems with Sky presentation last year which was universally agreed on the forums.... too many people on board.

allegedly hasn't even started and already they have 3 presenters and 3 men who have much experience as lead commentators.
