Should be.
How many defences has Rocky got now?

He has been defending the Lonsdale CHAMPIONSHIP title since Crease was in diapers. Tossing all these other title belts (and their wearers) about hither and thither whilst KO'ing every one of these various and highly touted so called "champions".
However his current run regarding the WBC belt is several weeks along I believe. The WBC belt does not come with a matching toupee and he's beginning to get bored with it. He's fancies the WBA belt these days.

4 losses from injury (3 cuts & one broken hand)
2 Split decisions
1 legit stoppage (way back in week 8 in his very attempt)
Hardly ''choking''
Well it can't be called "achieving" can it? Stribling has had more shots than pratically everyone, if he fails to win a World Title, he will have no-one to blame but himself.

jBacca wrote:You're choices are farcical. You have one of the top two fighters here but you gift shots to a complete noob who hasn't been here for more than two weeks. Then you grant Norton a fight. Ridiculous.
cSo I give a the new guy a chance to prove himself, so what? We really need to get over this, would you all have said the same thing if I had've gave those shots to Dan, DEG or Hog?
jBacca wrote: Do you think these fights should count as eligible defences?
FGrankly, I don't see why not. But I am not naive enough to be convinced that they will be.
No doubt the criteria will be changed again to excludet me:
First off it was announced that the Sim public were in agreement that the Open Weeks should NOT be counted tord the unifcation rule.
Now, it appears the direction of the wind has changed to chalk up another defence for Kevo & Buzz.
From time to time I get f
ucked off with the double standards in this place, and this is just another example of it.
jBacca wrote:Stribling has already beat Ali and they had scores to settle. Good choice of fight.
Well you would say that, considering the special relationship that you have exhibited with Kevo over the course of the past 5 seasons since The Great Deletion.

Butr Tuyson has become a World Champion. Stribling has not.
Case closed.

Ali and Marciano's defences this week should be counted as legit defences as they are facing fighters in their respective sanctioning bodies top tens. They aren't facing no-hopers like Louis.

Crease, one must first reach out and attempt ot achieve a single demonstrated "standard" of at least an initial threshold, before one can lash out at others regarding "double standards".

Best 2nd round draft pick out there Crease. I'm more than happy with his performances this season

Indeed. A "no-hoper" who has never slipped out the the Commish's rankings.

Eh? You really think that Norton has a chance against Louis?

I actually rank Ken Norton in my top 20 Heavyweights of all time. Ken has proved that on his best day, he could beat Muhammad Ali.
I expect Joe Louis to take it, but I wouldn't be shocked if Norton pulled the win off.

I've made the decision to only count these title fights toward unification if the opponent was ranked in the top 10 of the applicable sanctioning body. The purpose of these open weeks was to allow fighters who would not normally get a title shot a small taste of glory, not to speed up the unification process.
Marciano's wins over Tua and Frazier will not count. He is still one defense shy of being qualified for unification.
Ali's win over Wlad will not count. Kevo or JDC, was Stribling ranked in the WBA top ten in week 28? If so then Ali is qualified for unification. If not, Ali is one defense shy as well.
Holmes win over Braddock and Bowe will not count. He needs 3 defenses to qualify for unification.
Louis wins over Haye and Moore will not count. He needs 3 defenses to qualify for unification.

THE ROCK is so embarrassed that he has faced too many top challengers that he is seriously considering stripping himself of the WBC title and walking right over and beating up on Ali for also facing too many top rated opponents. THANK THE GODS that Crease would never do such a thing. At least ONE belt holders manager has enough good sense to always play it safe even when he doesn't have to. Kudos 2 Krease.
As for THE ROCK facing Joe Frazier....yep, we really took an easy fight that time......and THE ROCK beat him so handily that we worry about just how badly we would hurt ANY other fighter.

May as well keep that strap if Rocky and Ali are going to square of 'Buzz, first unification bout and all that.

Stribling was ranked in the W26 fight with Ali, but had dropped off by W28

Joe Louis succeds in defending his WBO Title in three title defences and he is not elligible to unify.
Bah humbug!!!
