Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I thought all the crap with the kid was over. I'm sure he said it's sorted now, and that he has the kid weekends, even though it isn't his, which if true, is not like the norm with Gavin and is quite commendable. Also, doesn't he have another kiddo on the way? Like I say, I believed it was all buried.
But what the fornicate do I know.

Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I don't give a fvck about the show. Boxing is secondary to whatever problems he has right now. Frankie, if your reading this mate, remember, KRO!!!
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
Take a rest and fix yourself up, Frankie, this life isn't easy
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night

Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
Take this stupid Fu****g thread down, it's too personal and has nothing to do with his boxing, Frankie will be ok! He just needs some time that's all! No one in life is perfect and 26 think about what your saying you idiot! You feel for the fans! So what your saying is go in the ring and get hurt cos your mind is not on the job!! If there his fans they'll understand which I know they all do!
Frankie will come through this a stronger and better person!

i think people would do well to remember the Darren Sutherland situation and give Frankie a break. There is more to life than boxing. Do whats right for you mate.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I understand where you're coming from but you can't go round asking for threads to be deleted on Boxrec or like you did on eastside boxing when someone wanted to know how much you got paid against Cleverley. However i do like the fact you interact with boxing fans so i have to commend you for that and being so passionate regarding a mate.Bomber 1 wrote:Take this stupid Fu****g thread down, it's too personal and has nothing to do with his boxing, Frankie will be ok! It's a pretty fair question for a boxing fan to ask why a Boxer has pulled out at such short notice especially if he'd purchased a ticket for the show on the strength of that boxer being on the bill and yes the reason might be very personal but at the same time it's already in the public domain from various boxing media sources so does it matter if it's been mentioned again here?

hope Frankie can sort it out....
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
Nonsense. Frankie himself put it in the public domain and has talked aout it openly, so it's nothing that a regular visitor here didn't know already.phil5555 wrote:MachoMan09 wrote:All this paternity business can't be easy to deal with. I don't know if that is the root of this week's shenanigans and Gavin has always been mercurial but finding out you're not the father of a child you thought was yours must be troublesome to cope with, despite what you might say in public. I had Frankie down as a future (genuine) world champion. I have now changed my mind.
Thats a terrible post to be putting on here ,Thats Personnel mate nothing to do with anyone on here.
As for Macho's sentiments, I agree, I think people are underestimating how his personal situation is clearly affecting him at the moment and I definitely feel for him. Hope he's able to come through it all and prove his talent once he feels mentally in the right place.

Whatever the reasons, I'm sure anyone with any sense of decency hopes the lad overcomes whatever issues he's got and starts enjoying life - and boxing.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
yes i agree, but lets not have any more false dawns, frankie, if you read this, then come back when you are ready, but dont kid the public in the meantime that you are ready!Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:Whatever the reasons, I'm sure anyone with any sense of decency hopes the lad overcomes whatever issues he's got and starts enjoying life - and boxing.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
. Totally disagree Bomber - if this is such secret material why did it surface in Boxing Monthly? You can't put something like that in the public domain and then cry foul when it gets discussed. And I also feel sorry for the paying public who are lumbered with a much weaker show and no option to get their money back. Of course if he aint fit he shouldn't fight but couldn't he made the decision sooner, allowing Frank and the boys to sort a proper replacement show?Bomber 1 wrote:Take this stupid Fu****g thread down, it's too personal and has nothing to do with his boxing, Frankie will be ok! Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I am in no way defending the card but the wording that allegedly used was pretty much saying that Frankie pulling out was a bolt out of the blue. Seems like in the chief support Chris Johnson pulled out earlier in the week & some eastern European was drafted in with no title at stake.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
This is one bill that Warren cannot be blamed for the top liner going. He would have known nothing about this at all until the day of the weigh in, I spoke to someone close to the camp earlier in the week and everything was going swimmingly and needless to say they were very confident of Frankie turning it on.
I don't know what happened and whilst accepting I could find out I would rather not know, this is clearly a huge personal issue for Gavin and thereby private, I wish him well and hope he comes through this and comes back better and stronger.

Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
Good post, and I generally agree. Personally I do think FW gets maybe a little bit too much flack for last minute cancelations etc. However, last minute health withdrawals and other issues are just exactly that.... last minute. Its not planned by Warren, although it does happen far too often with him especially and I can see why fight fans have become sceptical.GLOBALBOX wrote:This is one bill that Warren cannot be blamed for the top liner going. In most cases, although not in all, the problem is with the away fighter and not the home fighter and that is something to consider. Off course there are exceptions to the rule, but that is the norm.
I for one am not promoting fighters fighting when not 100% mentally of physically. It is the hurt business and people's health is at risk and you are much more vulnerable if you are not 100%. However, it is also a job and if you could change the scenario to a more sedentary position of maybe a group presentation to senior management... and one of your colleagues didn't show after promising everything was in control.... everyone would be p'd off.
I just wish Frankie all the best..... I still believe in him as a boxer, he has the tools to go all the way. I still think Gavin vs Brook is one of the most mouthwatering contests in the UK a few years down the line (when Gavin is a proper Welterweight). However, this fight should have been postponed a few weeks ago - and I hope he wasn't pressured into fighting to keep up the promise of "2 live shows a week" on the new channel.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
does this mean he will be stripped of the intercontinental belt???
seen curtis in the gym and he looks in great shape
if he has personal problems then he will need to take time out and reflect on his life etc and then come back as fresh and ready to go.
wouldnt want to see him go into the ring and get hurt as he isn't prepared fuilly for a fight.
just puts fwank in a pickle i suppose and his comments on mitchell weren't needed IMO

Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I do agree that Frankie Gavin needs time out of the fight game to sort his head out and if is his heart is still in it (which I hope it is) because he has got a ton of talent and could go a long way with the right support etc, and I do agree that allegedly's "Something in the water" even if it was meant in jest probably does not hell the cause but we all want to see a fully fit Frankie Gavin (physically and mentally) back in the ring when he feels ready and kicking ass.
Re: Frankie Gavin pulls out of fight tommorow night
I suppose this is what i originally meant, i want to see him fit and well i just wish he would have gone away and sorted it all out before agreeing to fight etc.
To Funtime: I'm no hater, i'm a fan, just sort yaself out fella, as a few people have said, hope you come back and become what your potential promises.
You have all the tools mate, just sort yaself out and come back when ya ready. but only when you are ready.
