I take it that some of the 4000 tickets are sitting at the matchroom headquarters waiting for us fans to call and purchase....if so they are NOT SOLD and if the boxers have tickets sitting at home they are NOT SOLD.
So Eddie I know you read these comments on here so stop trying to pull the wool over our eyes, the fans, and tell us the truth how many tickets have actually been sold and that means that you have taken money for them and not just had the tickets printed.
Magnus- why is it refreshing, it's not promoting, it's lying to us fans to get us to part with our hard earned cash and purchase tickets. Poor promoting i think.

Promotion is one of the four elements of marketing mix (product, price, promotion, place). It is the communication link between sellers and buyers for the purpose of influencing, informing, or persuading a potential buyer's purchasing decision.
The specification of five elements creates a promotional mix or promotional plan. These elements are personal selling, advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, and publicity.]A promotional mix specifies how much attention to pay to each of the five subcategories, and how much money to budget for each. A promotional plan can have a wide range of objectives, including: sales increases, new product acceptance, creation of brand equity, positioning, competitive retaliations, or creation of a corporate image. Fundamentally, however there are three basic objectives of promotion. These are:
1. To present correct information to consumers as well as others
2. To increase demand
3. To differentiate a product.
There are different ways to promote a product in different areas of media. Promoters use internet advertisement, special events, endorsements, and newspapers to advertise their product. Many times with the purchase of a product there is an incentive like discounts, free items, or a contest. This is to increase the sales of a given product.

Yes, disgraceful behaviour, i'll be setting fire to myself in a public square tomorrow because of this.
Misleading people on the amount of tickets sold to the public for a fight that is 2 months away is a new low. I honestly dont know where boxing goes from here.

Hats off to Matchroom.
They Promoted this event to the ultimate - and it worked.
Clear message to the rest - match that.
I think this can only be good for the fans.
I expect Hatton in particular to rise to the challenge.
Good times for boxing fans .......

The only time Hatton Promotions have sold out a MAJOR event is when Ricky Hatton has boxed.
Tell me what leading event they have promoted which Ricky has not boxed in?

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
It will happen mate.
Comparatively speaking Hatton Promotions is a fledgling Company.
How long have Matchroom been established ?
Eddie has been handed a very solid business platform by his old fella - if he was starting from scratch he would struggle as they all do.
Even the man who can't be named, Oh Gracious One, stated that any Promotion Company takes 5 years to establish and along that 5 years will lose shed loads.
It's simple - compete or be left behind.
I think they will.
Watch this space.

90% full? Maybe 85?
Great turn out for a lad that was considered a "non ticket seller" previously.
That result and performance will certainly ensure the punters come back again and maybe even bring a mate.

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
when ricky hatton boxed at sheffield arena they were giving tickets away before the fight......kell brook is now a massive attraction....it's a shame his last promoter had him way down the undercard and not boxing in his home town

Casual fans aren't that interested in 'clinics'. They want to see action. He'll have to pull his finger out in future outs I reckon
Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
There were a few empty seats by the time Brook and Hatton got going but thats because a lot of numpties got ejected for scrapping.
Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
Yep Brook now appears to be a big thing in Sheffield, he is massively benefitting from having a decent promoter. FW (edit by mod) so badly, I used to hate it when I got to the odd FW bill and I'd already misseed Brook cos he's been boxing daft early on the undercard.
Such a waste of talent and potential, I appreciate you should give some lads easy fights early in career and build them up, but if they are happening at 7pm on a long undercard then no-one's gona see it! FW has dropped a major bollock with Kell Brook!

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
Man, you're a tough judge. He broke Hatton's nose in the first round so those with a bit of a bloodlust were entertained periodically throughout the bout. He basically beat him up and knocked him down. There was quite a bit of action, IMO. Knocking out Matthew Hatton would be a difficult prospect for anyone.lefthook82 wrote:Casual fans aren't that interested in 'clinics'. They want to see action. Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
Looked pretty full to me. I had to re-book my tickets as I needed a 3rd one and two weeks before the fight there were only 2 blocks with any tickets left and and there were literally 10 tickets available in both.
I think those in the box office were just picking up tickets bought direct from the arena as they didn't post them out close to fight night.
It definitely emptied out from about halfway through the Brook fight as the last train back was about half 11ish and I think the two blocks nearest the stage had a lot of non locals in (plus it was obvious who the winner was).

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
Shame about the morons scrapping in the stands.
i know we've seen it all before and this does happen from time to time, its still hard to get casual fans to turn up id there is a chance it will go off in the crowd.
That been said i had a great night

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
anyone see that first guy taking on five guys at once? pretty impressive, took about ten coppers to subdue him, he got the biggest cheer of the night on his way out.
Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
i personally think it can potentially ruin the night mate,
I do know people having a row after a drink is nothing new (and coming from Sheffield believe me i'm used to it) but its a sporting event at the end of the day and 'most' people there are only interested in fighting IN the ring.
I've seen it before at fights quite a few times and it takes the edge of it all for me, constantly looking over your shoulder in case the whole place goes off ain't that enjoyable to me.
But, like i said in this case i was well away from it and i had a great night. Highlight for me was hearing Scott Quigg say to a girl, i suppose you want my autograph too (after signing a few) and she said....sorry but i have no idea who you are.
You'll get to that stage maybe Scott where everyone knows you...........but not yet.

Re: Brook v Hatton shifts 5000 tickets inside three days
I've been going to the boxing for 20 years plus, I've seen fights at every major event I've ever been to, including ones in the States.
I think alcohol does play a part but I think that actually allowing beer inside the arena/seats actually calms things down a bit (motorpoint and the one in Liverpool are the only two I've ever seen beer allowed at seats) and stops huge groups of lads congregating in one area which is often where the flashpoints occur.
It's obviously a large venue stream to all the arenas so they will never stop it. They had loads of stewards, security and police in the arena and they do for non boxing events (although there were definitely far more coppers about for the boxing). The last time I was in there there was no pat down check on the way in as there was on Saturday, or the increased presence but I did see one lad being punched/manhandled/pepper sprayed by 2 coppers on the way out so there's trouble at most venues, it's not a boxing thing.
I didn't see a huge amount of women or kids there, but suspect that they wouldn't be put off by a couple of quickly quelled lads having a punch-up. The sort of women that go to the boxing generally have their make-up applied by shotgun anyway and I'm sure they see fights on a regular night out.
