My thinking is this the winner would then be able to call out Shane or Monte and they would of had the necessary exposure to the boxing public to do so. Could generate interest.
Chauncy what do you think? Would be good if could happen. Any thoughts?

I would agree that leaving the ring at the end of round 10 is not the cleverst when you are the one delivering the most telling blows. Unfortunately when Moyoyo got pts taken off twice as Chauncy was smartly playing the referee as you would when the goal is 2win, he just seen another shafting and lost it. Moyoyo was meant to be paid before the fight, last I heard he still aint been paid.
For the record, I believe the ref made the correct calls for what he seen.WHats your thoughts there. I believe a rematch Moyoyo would stop Chauncy as I seen Chauncy legs buckle for the 1st time

Re: Jan. 28th, Auckland, Welliver Rules Supreme
Moyoyo quit man. Every other fight that night sucks and the fans are finally enjoying a good match, Moyoyo rips them off.
I have no knowledge of him not getting paid but I will tell you right now that many promoters in the USA would not pay his arse. Guys are not getting paid for turning their backs these days, let alone retreating from the ring.
If Moyoyo cannot hang when Welliver has messed up ear drums and couldn't spar for the fight, he has no chance against him in a complete camp. Everything went Moyoyo's way and he still took off from the ring. He is not a trusted opponent because of this bout and all of the other foul filled fights he's been in. He was known going into this to be a ruffian who does not like to listen to the ref. He stayed true to those colors too.
I hope Welliver never even thinks of this guy again. The Welliver fans deserve better than an opponent who is not likely to follow through with the entire fight. We want a guy who can match Chauncy's intensity. We know Chauncy could lose 5 points in a round and not quit. They could announce him in open scoring down huge on the cards after 8 rounds to an Olympic Champion and he would still fight on to the best of his ability. A ref can try to stop him for no f'n reason and he will protest to fight.
Speaking of that night. Another African Champion quit. Sam Peter gave his f'n HW Title away on the stool because he was demoralized by the open scoring reading. Then the damn quitter gets a rematch with Wlad after that. K2 ripped us off by using that quitting scrub again while real fighters who will do nothing but fight to the end got denied the shot.
I want my vote counted and my vote is F Mensah. Give somebody willing to compete to the finish no matter what a shot.

When Chauncy becomes filthy rich I might accept a job with him for a nice salary if offered. I could manage a few apartment buildings for him or something. Maybe be the guy that arranges the thugs to meet the people who don't pay their rent on time. You never know.N2 Shape wrote:U must be on the payroll by know Kronk? As of now, I would feel like crap taking any money from him for even a trip to 1 of his fights....unless someone else was paying. I'd pay my own way for the right fight. Now if he gets a mega match up with SBW....I'd like to get in on that. All I want is a dunk tank provided for me outside the arena where I can taunt SBW fans and charge them to throw balls to try and dunk me. I will hustle my own cash. I bet I could make a mint on something as simpleton as that. Those drunk guys start throwing and they can't stop until they hit...especially with me verbally raping them from the chamber.
I think a rival Rugby team needs to adopt Chauncy and all the SBW haters should get in on the action too. At the end of the day, if the money is right, it could be worth it to SBW to get destroyed. If Rugby fans are anything like USA football fans, there are tons of SBW Haters out there that need a HW to rep them. It would be an epic Welliver destruction of SBW. Chicken dances and all that.

Holy shit...read this. It says that winner of Barrett vs Cameron will be #1 contender. Monte is quoted saying he wants to knock em both out the same day. That guy hust ducked the real NZ HW Champion in Welliver. Unreal article folks.
SBW is the guy they all want, Chauncy Welliver is the guy they all FEAR!

Wow, are we forever going to be plagued with this nuthugging rants, Chauncey do everyone a favor, fight a farken pulse for FFS, so we can stop this crap.
Really bud, i know your a fan, but this is ridiculous.....he hasn't beaten a top 100 fighter as yet, and CRUISERWEIGHTS seem to be getting a lot of ring time with chauncey atm, just actually keeping it real.
Peace!

Moyoyo did land lots of punches thats for sure, but never once did he buzz me or wobble my legs. The early rounds were close but anyone there, including Moyoyos corner have to agree the tides had turned big time in the later rounds. Moyoyos own team said he was dead tired & ready to be stopped. The fight was exciting though & I'm open to a rematch.NZ Fighter wrote:I would agree that leaving the ring at the end of round 10 is not the cleverst when you are the one delivering the most telling blows. & in reguards to non payment: 1. They knew the whole time they were getting paid after the fight as per WBO rules. & yes, there was delay in his payment as his bank would not take American cashiers checks so he was paid via bank wire. It was not our business to get his check cashed but but helped him from America anyway as he was pretty lost in figuring out bank system.

Moyoyo Chauncy rematch will be awesome!!!
Good to hear the pay got sorted. I was surprised when I heard this and never thought your people were like that. A bit of honest miscommunication there.
Mate I think its a credit to you coming back like you did and I certainly aint disputing you came back say bar I think it was the 9th when Moyoyo went absolutly brilliantly and come out like he was trying to stop you then and there, that round was def his. You showed heart. We all know Moyoyo is a true Heavyweight so the deal of people saying hes a cruiser doesnt buy with me. Chauncy won fair and square against a fighter who fought the best fight I have seen from him (only seen 5fights). A rematch will be a great spectacle and a interesting clash of styles. The winner definitly deserves to fight bigger fights in NZ.

He won fair and square because Moyoyo left the ring. If it had gone to the judges scorecards it would have been a travesty. You wern't the only one thereNZ Fighter wrote:Moyoyo Chauncy rematch will be awesome!!!

I agree with you Yid14. I had Moyoyo up by a rd or 2. It was a real shame. The rules are the rules tho. So yeah I have to agree "He (Chauncy) won fair and square because Moyoyo left the ring"yid14 wrote:He won fair and square because Moyoyo left the ring. He lost to Danny Williams, Brewster, Rahman and was totally uncompetitive against Chageav (who is limited himself).
Okello would be the best win of his career.....whereas, Leapai has beaten Okello Peter himself, plus Walker and Beck. I would say that Leapai has had wins over more "real" big names than Meehan
I agree with foxdog. Meehan and Tua are the best 2 in this region at the moment. Leapai is getting better all the time though and in a year or 2 might be able to compete at the next level. I havnt seen much of Welliver, But im not sure he would be competitive with Tua or Meehan.
Should have put those dollars on.
